one of the main reasons my dad dumped his camaro is cuz the stupid leaky creaky t-tops and the fact it was too slow

 

I'd pick the Shelby in a second if I had the money, but the '05 GT is just fine fore me. If I had all the money in the world, I'd never buy a Vette.

 

GT500 for me...that is if I could afford it.

While that doesn't look as bad on an 05 as I thought it might, its still not the greatest and the king-cobra style decals would have to go.

 

Those Shelbys will be sick when customers start swapping twin-screw superchargers onto them.
I've seen the new Corvette up close. I hope the aftermarket starts selling headlights for it. Those stock lights look terrible. What a shame. I like everything else about the car.

 

yup, they ruined the nose of the car. i saw a blue one up close. the c5 was better looking

 

I actually grew to like the C6 Body style more. It has more of an edge (this coming from an ex-big fan of the C5! now I'm just a fan)


And the nose took a while to get used to, but it doesnt look as bad to me as it did in earlier photos (especially the yellow vette, yuck lol). Looks better in person

 

i love everything except the brand and those awful headlights. the c5 race car had the best headlights

 

Well, I wouldnt pay for any of them. But, if I won the right to choose one in a raffle. I would take the Vette.

 

Purely on what I like, the Shelby.

Real world, the Vette because
1. GTO Styling is non existenct.
2. 99% of the people who want a Shelby will be tremendously priced out of the market with dealer markups ala the FordGT.

 

First of all the new Z06 has a 427 in it so it's a 7.0, not a 6.0, and secondly, its probably pulling close to 1.0g on the skid pad which unfortunately would trounce the new cobra. The power is supposedly going to be somewhere in the 500+ range, so it wont be too far off the gt500's 450, but it is much more of a performance machine. As much as i hate to say it the new vette Z06 has the edge in every category perfromance related. Styling, the GT500 wins hands down.

 

The C6 Z06 in a second. There's no comparison to be made. The GT500 is lightyears behind what the Z06 is. Different classes of cars, no reason to compare. Pretty dumb comparison. The C6 Z06 is the greatest American car ever made. It's extremely fast, cheap, and sexy. Win-win. No automaker in the world has anything that can touch the new Z06. If you even dream the GT500 will handle as well as the Z06 you need to give me whatever you're on because it works darn well. Honestly if you're trying to compare best buy, not preference, and you didn't pick the Z06 you're a fanboy blind to the facts.

 

Not a Chevy fanboi, but they did the Z06 right. Supercar performance for $65k? It's among the cars I'd love to own like the Ford GT, the Shelby GT500...but since I'm not a rich guy, I'll settle for my lowly '05 Mustang GT
