What did you do with your Mustang today?*
I don't think I could ever go that long w/o driving it. Since "Snowzilla", I was in my DD (a Focus) 100% of the time. After about 2 weeks I couldn't take it anymore and drove the Mustang 3 days in a row
. At least the roads were dry, and dry salt isn't half as bad as when it meets water.
I FINALLY heard back from the machine shop on my custom grind cams -- they said "what you really want is Livernois Stage II cams". Yeah. It's been 2 1/2 months and they finally tell me to use an off the shelf part.
Did some asking on a different forum and turns out these are just Comp Cams 127500's (XFI Stage II PSR (phasers/springs req'd)). Right now I'm weighing my options between 127400's (Stage I) or the 127500's. Seems like Stage I is geared more for low end torque and midrange power and a smooth idle. Stage II moves the powerband more at the high end (probably with greater overall gains) with a rougher idle. I'll probably do Stage I since I don't track race. Just don't want to end up w/ a setup that leaves me flat on my face at 5500 RPM while I'm passing someone on the highway and I suddenly run out of power. On the other hand, since I drive this thing around town a few days a week, I want something that isn't stalling @ every stoplight.
