I'm 99% sure I'm going the JBA ceramic route.
![Bling](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/bling.gif)
I've spent so much on trivial appearance stuff, a couple that can hardly be seen!
![Screwy](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/screwy.gif)
So I saw no reason why I should stop at the LCAs.
This is another reason why I'm upgrading to the ceramic coating on the shorties.

I like the billet, they look really good. But it's not that noticeable, so either one is good

The billet is nice but I really like the tubular CHE units Brian is using!
I know this is too late for you Bill, but maybe Jed might be interested?

Saleen Introduces New High Performance 302 'Crate' Engines
TROY, Mich., April 28 -- Saleen is offering, for the first time in company history, its high performance 302 cubic inch (5.0L) premium crate engines for sale through its Speedlab Aftermarket Division. The engine will be available in either short block or long block varieties to satisfy the most seasoned of engine builders and power enthusiasts.
Saleen offers the same OEM quality, durability and precision-built engines used today in Saleen built performance vehicles. The legendary 302 engine has already made its rightful return to the performance stage in Saleen product offerings such as the Parnelli Jones Edition, Heritage Series, and the new 25th Anniversary Sterling Edition. Consumers now have the opportunity to upgrade their existing vehicle with a high performance Saleen 302 crate engine.
"This addition to our aftermarket product lineup was a no brainer," says Carlos Duran, Manager of Saleen's Speedlab Aftermarket Division, "This engine is currently at high production rates, which allow for quick delivery to Saleen Speedlab consumers. We want to provide our customers with the utmost in confidence relating to this new line of products."
PERFORMANCE
The 302 cubic inch crate motors (available in both long and short blocks) are available for naturally-aspirated or supercharged applications. Based on the 4.6L 3V Ford aluminum block, the entire internal package is upgraded with premium Saleen engineered forged pistons, rods, crankshaft and valve train components, and camshaft that will exceed the requirements of even the professional engine builder. The basis of our performance data is from the current 2008 Heritage Saleen platforms. Our packages will range from 390hp (normally-aspirated 302 engines) to 580hp (supercharged 302 engines) using existing EPA certified induction and exhaust systems. Furthermore, these packages can be further upgraded with 6 speed transmissions, high performance clutch/flywheels, higher performance rear end differentials, Watts link rear suspension kits and, of course, superchargers.
"We are very excited to put the 302SC long block engine into the drag racing circuit this year under the hood of the Saleen Speedlab/JDM Engineering performance drag car", states Michael Lingo, Vice President of Operations & General Manager - Aftermarket Division, "We are planning to place the vehicle on display throughout the season; proving the durability and reliability of the Saleen motors in the most demanding environment imaginable." The 302 crate engines will launch in May, 2008 and will be available for purchase direct from the factory or through select Saleen Speedlab dealers. Call today at 800-888-8945 to speak directly with your Saleen Speedlab specialist.

My car will be paid off, I'll make a killing on eBay and have a nice down payment for something else to play with!

Should give me plenty of time to save up for my Ford GT, maybe I'll be able to afford one once I'm in my 60's

This is my last Mustang for a while too..... I've had 2 cars in my life that have evoked the same feelings that this car has for me: my '92 vert that I've had since new, and a '88 RX7 that I loved but unfortunately it burnt to the ground on Christmas Day '98. Atleast I still have my 'vert and will never sell it.

Somehow I think Tom's next car will be a 'Slowpar'. ![Biggrinjester](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrinjester.gif)
Things can always change, but this may be my last Mustang (for a while), but will be the first Mustang for Chris!![Thumb](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Next sports car will be a Vette. I can't see myself modding it like the Mustang and will try and keep it all stock for the most part... especially the exhaust.![Rollinglaugh](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/rollinglaugh.gif)
If I want loud, I'll just ask for a ride in the Stang!

Just a tiny update..
Finally picked up my new T-bolt clamps this afternoon. I returned 10 of them last week because they were too long. Had to pay $10 restocking fee.. oh well, better than them not taking them back.
Main man Danny wasn't at the shop today, but I got a chance to talk to his lead mechanic about this and that. He said my heads, regardless of how they look visually, will most likely be sent off to the head/machine shop for inspection.
Also got confirmation that installing the shorties and clutch will be non-issue while the engine is out of the car.
New engine break-in will be 500-1000 miles of non-boost driving. First oil change at 500. Then after that, we'll throw it on the dyno to make sure everything holds up under boost and the tune is stable.
So all is in check and looking good for once. Just need MMR to give me my dang shortblock!

Nope... next to impossible to get a Challenger. ![Nonono](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/nonono.gif)
Sounds good...
That's what I meant before when I asked about the S/C being installed right away - not boosting for break in.

Long story short...... at 60k miles, the rotary engine went bad. Turbo, trans, etc. OK but bad engine. Bought a new long block ($5K) had dealer install it... 2 years later (approx 6k miles- I didn't drive it much) a fuel rail cracked on the way to my mom's house for Xmas dinner (I was like 23 at the time). Big flames, big fires..... worst thing is back then because of my driving record and the money I spent on the engine, I was only carrying liability insurance. After the fire, I got a check for $600 from the scrap yard for what was left of the body/frame. No joke.... I was like seriously bummed for months.
