Ponies on The Run (Again)
Thanks Tom. I have been going back and forth and I think seeing them on a similar car is leading me towards the chrome version.
Aren't the PJ's wheels 20". I vaguely remember hearing the backs were 275 on 20s, but I wouldn't bet on my memory.
So slightly related, looking at the pics from POTRII.. Some family friends are here in So Cal for the holidays and we did some catching up, not having seen each other in almost three years. Showed them the car, of course, and photobucket pics of the shows and various pics. "Hey let me show you this great vid".... took them to Taco's youtube vids of POTRII. For the rest of the night I got, "And your how old now" and "How many sets of tires does this cost you"....

I have no regrets; I really dig chrome wheels on darker color cars.
So before I take the plunge. The MGW shifter is night and day better then the stock shifter correct? I'm new to manual, so I dont know how/what gets better with after market shifters so pardon my newb question. Even though I know what the answer is already, I thought I'd ask

It is not soft and mushy like the stock shifter, but more robust, firm, and if you will, notchy (another word for 'positive engagement').
Just buy it.
Opinions?
I kept my hurst ball, 33 bucks if you buy it, for use with the MGW. I haven't seen any of the MGW own ***** that I like.
Stock vs. MGW, yeah night and day. Where the Hurst felt like you had to force it into gear the MGW has a feeling of a precision *snick* into gear. The stock one isn't bad but the MGW is better.

Prothane motor mounts came in!
EDIT: oh wait, I forgot you probably take that much time just to operate the camera.
Awhile back, wasn't Jed talking about an oil filter relocation kit?
The waste gate is close to the filter and the filter can be changed, but why not relocate it someplace easier while I'm down there?
Then I can get the dual one and a) have more filtration with 2 FL1A filters instead of the smaller stock filter, b) have at least another quart of oil with the bigger filters in the system, and c) take the oil away from the block and back for some additional cooling.
I have used this kit before:

I found the perfect place to put it under the driver's side headlight, under the bumper cover. Easy access and won't be messy to change at all.

Question, when ordering the shifter and use the option extra handle does that mean it will order both types of threads? If so, I'll just do that and order a hurst ball until MGW releases their 5spd ball with their logo on the side or something.
There anyway to order the shifter with the chrome finish shaft? I know I'm asking alot of questions

I'm looking at 1.5 to 2 hours for the LCA's taking my time.
I think he ditched that idea.
Ignore Tom1 with his shifter comments. Apparently, he's under the illusion that the stock shifter is a short throw and cannot be improved.
Best bet is to call up MGW when placing your order. That way you can get all your Q's answered before you order.
You're right Tom.

The dual filters are on my mind but I don't think I really need it. I do like the idea on an oil filter magnet:

Hey what do you guys think of this type of filter?

But I'm also thinking about more oil in the system (which helps with cooling the oil)... and about having the oil completely leave the block (also helps with cooling).
Where I'd put the filters might also get air going over them, so that would help with cooling, too.
Not that I have an oil temperature problem. But I'm sure it wouldn't hurt!
