Leo, I did add my $0.02 if you didn't see it:

What do you guys think about these?

I had them before from Summit (made by V-Tech) but they hit the bumper and deck lid at the corners. I really liked the retro look (remember, you have to imagine them installed with the SHR taillight panel).

Even with the SHR panel, they just draw too much attention.

They don't stand out much on the white... (like they would on red or black). I bet you would feel differently if you saw them in person on a white car.

If you concede that they don't stand out... would they be "too much" on the rear end?

I think they would go good with the center medallion and the tips. And they would break up the solid red lights like in the old days.

I wish I would have taken pictures of the set I had just laying in place... even if they didn't fit right, you could have gotten a better idea of what they look like on white.

My main concern is about it being too busy.

And from the angle view, they would go good with the polished ring on the rim.

I agree, they wouldn't stand out as much on white.

Too much bling on my rear end..

Possibly for black too.

Too much bling for black? Or it works for black?

And what about my big ol' white rear-end?

I must lean towards blingage.

And what about my big ol' white rear-end?
Oh please don't go there!!

(too much IMO, although if anyone can get away with them, it'll probably be you)

I'll call and talk to Brick... and I'll tell him about the problem I had with the other brand and I'll let him know that if I have the same problem I'm going to have to return them.

Then I can at least lay them in place and get pictures and we can make a better decision.

Oh yeah? Take this, you chromeaphobes!

Chrome trim is one of the design elements I love about classic cars. All of the trim I have on my 05 is my interpretation of the mustang heritage.

I do like the retro look of the chrome around the taillights.

Where did you get them? Do they fit ok without any modifying?

The V-Tech kit I had fit like crap.

Ben, take no offense from comments posted here.

Fact is, I'm happy people mod their Mustangs the way they like and not look the same as everyone elses.

I do like chrome bumpers, but the ones in that link just add on to the painted bumper cover and look a little off. Ones that replace the bumper covers would look cool if it was executed well, but it wouldn't really look right without fenders that compliment the shape. The current body style is much lower to the ground and to follow that the stock bumpers are made to have that "fat" look that would result in a pretty heavy piece of metal for a direct replacement.

I would have to paint them because they are actually clear. I know they are smoked, but you can see through them. The one guy I've met at a few car shows has them, but he painted them flat black.

I really do like the chrome ones for some reason. Like I told Bill... once I get pictures of them laying on my car, I'll post them before I put them on for good. Then you guys can give me better feedback.

I ordered them - hey, I don't fool around. If they don't fit right or don't look good or are "too much" I'll send them back.

I vote black.
If I ever decide to black out my rear-end, I would definitely go with the black ones. I am just not a fan of chrome trim.
Just like this or maybe the panel like your's Tom.

I'll save that pic and then post that one and mine when I get them. You all might be surprised how good the chrome and white looks. Or, I might be remember it looking better than it really does.
