Got my people fix yesterday. Dropped down in Ashland the "multi-cultural" college town. Saw some great music at a couple of different clubs.
But this is my fav 2 lane drive. Drops 3000+' in about 30 mins. A couple of hairpins are so tight the steering wheel is turned beyond 90 degs as you carve between 30 & 40.
What was interesting is tire pressure is supposed to be 32 but I've left them at 34 (allegedly better mileage.) I could feel the difference with just 2#. Just slightly drifting in some of the faster turns. But it is a balanced drift - the front end isn't pushing and the rear is solid too. And it was just a very slight slippage - no 'on the edge'. If you like 2 lane twisties you gotta try an 08 B! Great balance, throttle steer.
I know I could get stickier tires but I like staying with the BFG KDWS because I can hit rain or even ice on the passes some nights coming home from my music adventures from here to the Coast. And though they are all season, they still stick really good. There were no OMG adrenalin moments. Felt total confidence even when a few turns snuck up on me (first time on this road this year so I didn't remember a few of them).
What a blast!
