Looks like Im gonna get to go in a bit with one of our tankers to help with the wildfires. Fires heading towards a residential area but current in heavily wooded areas with no access so prob around noon or so i'll get deployed to go help. Fun times.

I think we'll mainly be going for water transport. We have two tankers that we received off grants that are prob the baddest pieces of water transport of their size in teh county. 3500 gallons on each, they have 1000gpm pumps (yes gallons per minute) for fire purposes. Also teh tanks are sealed and have a huge vacuum pump that you can pull like -20psi on the tank, so when you are drafting from an open water source it will refill all 3500 gallons in about 2min through 6in hoses. You can also pressurize the tank to i think the blow off is set to 15psi and when you open a discharge valve, you best not be standing in front of it. Im only one of about 3 people at the station that can full operate these trucks to their full potential.

Stay safe man. Is Forestry Commission or anyone using dozers and stuff to make fire breaks? Are they in a position yet where they can set backfires to get rid of some fuel before it gets to the populated areas?

Yea they have been involved since Sunday . Just real dry and lots of fuel from tornados plus no rain and steady winds, it's tough with any kind of equipment. It's jumped multiple breaks already from what I have heard and the terrain is not where any trucks can get in there to it

Might get up to 80 here today. Another reason to love MN. The weather is different every day of the week.

I woke up this morning to my dad having my brother practice his baseball pitching. Where was his target? THREE FEET IN FRONT OF MY CAR!!! Why can't people just use their brains?!!!
