I was shocked when I found out bacon bits were made from soy. Why even call them bacon?

Don't buy the cheap kind. You can get real. I used to sell them to restaurants.

 

We actually buy the Kroger brand real bacon bits (in little the little bags I mentioned above) and they're as good as any I've ever had. Well other than cooking bacon yourself and crumbling it up.

 

I don't even eat them. We just got some for christmas and were reading the ingredients before we bought them.

I went to the Lebanese place and got a beef kabob plate. It was great.

I've had a pot of beans (pintos and white) simmering all day with a hamhock in them, getting ready to put bone in pork chops in the smoker with some apple wood, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese.

 

Smoke is rolling and the chops are in.

 

Pics or it didn't happen.,. That sound like a good dinner! But you need cornbread also

 

Cornbread too, forgot to list it before. Can't have beans without cornbread.

 

That's what I'm talking about! Man now I want beans and cornbread for dinner

Not sure about the chops in the smoker, never tried them before and don't really have any solid info to go by. Just playing it by ear and see what happens. Of course that's when you usually get either the best stuff or the worst stuff, so I guess I've got a 50/50 chance.
