The only 'bean' ill eat is a green bean.
When I was about 3 years old I ate some beans and got sick not from the beans but from something else. Ever since they make me gag and I can't eat them.

That sucks.
I love big bowl of beans with cornbread. Gotta be home cooked though, with some type of ham in them for flavor. I prefer pintos and whites mixed, but I haven't made just white beans in a while so I decided to.

I just have some kind of psychological reaction to them.
My dad one offered me $20 when I was about 13 to eat a bowl of pinto beans. I got half the bowl down and couldn't take anymore. I was gagging after every spoon.
That's why I didn't like Stefanny's pic of her chili dogs that had beans on them

I'm like that with the smell of turkey. I can eat it as long as the smell isn't very prevalent

place where my mom lives has a restaurant, kind of a home cooking deal, but they have lima beans that are cooked way down and flavored with ham till they're kind of a paste consistency, they're incredible.

Me either.
I love the smell of turkey cooking - particularly smoking it with hickory on a Weber kettle.

Lots of protein and fiber, go with anything or by themselves, and filling.
Make some, that would make several great meals for someone on a budget. They're cheap as hell. Just buy a pound of dry great northern beans, a small ham hock (about $1) sort the beans pick out any bad ones or rocks, put them in a pan, rinse them off, cover them with water, drop in the ham hock, salt and pepper, bring them to a boil for 20 minutes or so, turn them down, cover and let them simmer for a couple hours until they're soft. Add water as needed to get them as soupy or thick as you want them.

That was if you were just wanting to try white beans. You cook pintos the same way, but pintos take a little longer to cook. I normally use a pound of white and pound of pintos mixed and it makes a big pot. We can eat a meal off of them and still have some for a couple of more meals with 2 pounds.
