WHATS FOR DINNER?

Mel and I met up with DarrenGT in Harrison Hot Springs, BC. What fun to meet face to face with someone you have come to 'know' through the forum.
Tonight's dinner was a simple outdoor grilled steak with peas from our garden and a salad with lettuce from our garden. The important part is we have a totally out of control rosemary plant that grows out across the patio toward our table. It puts on 8 or 9 inches of new growth. Reach out and grab a handful of it and let is slide through your hand and then inhale the fragrance. Rocky mountain high can't hold a candle to the fragrance of fresh rosemary.

I would agree! Although i'm especially partial to basil too. Right now everything has a smokey flavor all the smoke in the air
I did louisiana style kebabs with top sirloin, even bbq'd the corn (in the husks=tastes amazing).

I'm hoping my new place is finished by this time next year so that you can drop by and we can create some delicious dinners in the new chef's kitchen.
I live close to Harrison relatively so it wouldn't be too much a side trip. we'll have to plan for it. Mel can be the test subject

Mine was a bit ad-hoc last night. I had some left over peppers and zucchini so I fried up a yellow onion followed by the peppers and then the zucchini.
I can't think of the company but they have instant basmati rice and chuck peas in a sauce called Chana Masala (sp?? on phone so not gonna look it up.)
I used the rice to bed the fried vegetables and topped it with the Chana Masala.
Everything complimented the other so well. I'm gonna work on this a bit more and maybe see about making the Chana Masala from scratch.

Double cheeseburger on a bulkie roll with cut up avacado, tomato, cucumber, and red onion on the side. All washed down with a tall glass of ice cold spring water.
