Hey Jason, I've probably posted this before, but I think this is one of the best covers I've ever heard, and I'm not a fan of covers.
Whadda you think?
Dats some smokin guitar and vocals!! I think this was about 10 years ago, before anyone knew who they were, still playing gigs wherever they could get one.

Awesome song. Lyrics that really hit home. To a lot of people, cough, cough.
"Oh, you a fool you, don't stick them needles in your arms, I know, I've been there before". When a little problem that confronts you, you got a monkey on your back, just one more fix lord might do the trick, one hell of a price to get your kicks". One more blow boy I know, I know, yeah!

Great ****ing song, written straight from the heart. Hits home to me and a lot of people out there.
The music these guys wrote was epic. It was "here's what we did, here's what we do, it was horrible, and we really hope you don't do the same thing because it destroyed our lives".

I know its probably the most over played song in rock history, but for a good reason. Some of the best live guitar laid down, Allen Collins, Steve Gains and Gary Rossington. Can't beat a triple lead on a killer song.
When you can draw crowds of 100K people (or more) from England to California to see a bunch of rednecks from the South and fill stadiums, you know you've got something special. Do you see 100K people come out to see a band these days?
Ronnie was a bad ****. He performed barefoot often because he couldn't hear the music because it was so loud, but he could feel the beat in his feet through the stage as it thumped to keep time.
Love that "play if for Duane Allman". Respect. And you can instantly hear when Steve Gaines comes in with that Gibson.
The whole concert in Knebworth England, fantastic. Would have given anything to be there to see that.
PS. I love a screaming Gibson guitar.

Somebody in England waving the Stars and Bars and Ronnie says to the "Don't let that flag hit the ground" lol. And then they lay down a killer rendition of an old killer blues song. Steve Gaines just tearing it up! (you might have noticed that I'm a huge fan of Steve Gaines, lol, I love a screaming Gibson)

My favorite version of this song as well, great performance.
"Thought that I'd hit bottom, but I ain't there yet"

what are you listening to ?
My mind raced
And I thought what could I do
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you
Sound of the drums
Beating in my heart
The thunder of guns
Tore me apart
You've been
Thunderstruck
And I thought what could I do
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you
Sound of the drums
Beating in my heart
The thunder of guns
Tore me apart
You've been
Thunderstruck

They call me cowboy, I'm the singer in black
So throw a finger in the air and let me see where you're at
Say hey hey
Let me hear where your at and say hey hey
I'm givin it back, so say hey hey
Show me some metal and say
Hey hey hey hey
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Gat!!!!!
**** all y'all
So throw a finger in the air and let me see where you're at
Say hey hey

When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck
Sayin' "Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya"
At seven PM a main hatchway caved in
He said, "Fellas, it's been good to know ya"
The captain wired in he had water comin' in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went out of sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters

Mainstream song that had a lot of dark meanings in the drug world about heroin and meth that most straight laced people didn't get. But the rest of us did.
