what are you listening to ?

Well, I was rollin' by myself, went down to Memphis, Tennessee
and I was lookin' for a guy who had a mullet and no teeth
and I was trippin' on some acid a latino gave to me
Hey, I was smokin' morphine 'til it knocked me off my feet

Yeah, that is some good stuff. There is a lot more out there about the genius of the brothers that most people don't know, from titans of music. That band was something special that most people don't realize. Those few years were something that will never be done again and people from that era know it. You have to really dig deep to find the real deal of what was going on with them.

Read the book Midnight Riders: The Story of the Allman Brothers Band. Some good stuff in there.

Their new album is good, but still their first one is as solid as it gets.

So everyone here that knows me knows I love my headphones.... and the amp i have for them just takes them to whole other levels. I was sitting here re-ripping my Allman Brothers Dreams box set to lossless audio and remembered this clip of Gregg on Conan one night talking about the music. Justified IMO from one of the masters.

So I'm in a restaurant in Pigeon Forge Tn. this evening and I see a young girl and an older man (well about my age, lol) setting up an amp and mic outside in the waiting area.

We come out a few minutes later and they are playing, just the guy with a flat top and her singing, and its wonderful. We listen for a minute and there are a few people standing around listening and they say they're going to do Landslide by Stevie Nicks. Well I have to hear this, and she cuts loose with it.

Tears it to the ground, people start gathering from everywhere, coming in off the street and she kills it.

Then her dad starts talking about he was a stand in musician in Nashville and songwriter, and that the girl is only 14. WTF!?!!?

14 and she just sang this!?!@?!?

Hope the link works. They had a tip jar out there and I dropped a Franklin in it just for this song, not to mention the other's she did.

It was the highlight of my trip. The girl needs to go places, she can ****ing sing!!

Dicky playing and Warren on the slide, Gregg on the keyboards, good stuff. Great lyrics, really hits home.

Greggs' voice just rattles the timbers of the redneck barn. Those vocals he lays down are on another level of greatness. Hell yeah, brother, wail on it. Do it to it Gregg!!@!!!!
