Obama is smart and will at least attempt to institute some fundamental change to take America into the 21st century. And he'll likely be more favorably viewed around the world. His chief problem is that he lacks large scale leadership experience. I haven't yet been able to determine if that will hurt him or not, as there have been other presidents who didn't have years of experience and yet were still very effective.

McCain's chief problem is that he sees everything in black and white (good vs. evil, etc.) and we don't live in a black & white world. He also has little, if any, fundamental understanding of economics.

Did the USA do nothing during Cuban Missile Crisis?
Actually, the irony here may be that the roles aren't actually reversed with the US and Russia playing similar roles to the Cuban Missile Crisis. The Soviet Union began building nuclear missile sites in Cuba in response to Jupiter and Thor missiles which had been positioned in Turkey. Some would like for us to believe that Kennedy won the worlds biggest game of chicken forcing the Soviets to back down without granting them anything, but the truth is that we agreed to remove those missiles, and not to invade Cuba to resolve that crisis....and he was right to do so at the time. (frankly, we should have never positioned those missiles in Turkey in the first place, it **** near led to World War III)

We've made a lot of policy mistakes with the Russians, and unfortunately the Russians have generally reacted to those mistakes in the worst possible way. The US and Russia have a lot in common and would do far better if they worked together to achieve their goals. At this point I don't hold out much hope that this will ever actually occur.

Whatever you think of Bush Obama would be a foreign policy and defense disaster. He doesn't have it in him to make the tough executive decisions which means he is most likely either going to be

a: a spineless wimp who does absolutely nothing

or b: bent on proving that he isn't a spineless wimp making decisions that could have disastrous consequences without anything like the knowledge to properly judge the situation or the resolve to follow those decisions through.

Although I disagree with McCain on a great many things, in terms of defense and foreign policy he is better qualified than any Presidential candidate in fifty years without exception.

Good will around the world was only ever had with America's check book. If the "World" likes Obama so much let them elect him. He can be their Socialist President of the World for all I care. The "world" is not a good place and you worry about how we're perceived. This isn't the high school prom, I don't give a f*ck what Russia, China, or Mexico for that matter thinks of us. I know what I think of Canada...always looking to duck out of a fight and let America do the dirty work.

Also, its a missile defense shield. Cuban missiles were first strike missiles. Russia can kiss my ***. Just because they don't have one, or any hope of ever having one, they don't want their enemies to have them. And the accurate description of the Russian "nuclear" threat to Poland was that if Poland got the missiles they would now be a nuclear target in event of WWIII. Well I think they were already a target. At least they'll have a freaking missile sheild. This second cold war must be won. Just think we have all of Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Georgia, Baltic States on our side. Last time around Russia had them. If it's the board game Risk, we're winning. However we do possess the Ukraine, and everyone knows in Risk the Ukraine is week and always gets its *** kicked from both sides, so I'll have to rethink that one.

I guess we're in deep **** then since I look at McCain as only the older version of Bush.
And with Bush as a leader this country went straight to hell.
I remember back in 1999 when I first came to the USA, it was during Clinton's last year in the office. Things were great back then, it was a true American dream. Plenty of jobs and gas and food were really cheap. Now that I think about it, it would've been better if Hilary won the election over Obama.

And here I was holding out hope that you were smarter than you're actually proving to be. That above remark is just about the stupidest pile of ignorant rubbish I've ever seen uttered around here.

All of it, and here's why >>

Notwithstanding the misguided insult to Canadians (who provided safe haven and shelter to thousands of stranded American airline passengers on 9/11), comparing complex geopolitical problems to "proms" and "playing Risk", shows a gross misunderstanding and mangling of the facts. And claiming that we ought not to give a **** about what the rest of the world thinks is the height of hubris. The United States can't exist in a vacuum and is as dependent on the rest of the world as the rest of the world is on it. America may be the dominant military power right now, but superpower status can only be maintained through a strong economy, and America's economy is fast heading into the crapper. Most experts agree that America will be a second rate power within thirty years, with China the new dominant superpower, if the U.S. doesn't take immediate steps to fix its economic woes and refrain from starting unnecessary wars. Otherwise, I hope you like rice.

All empires fall eventually. Happened to the Egyptians. Happened to the Romans (whose power lasted far longer than America's ever will). Happened to the British. And it will happen to the United States. And on that day, better hope that you haven't pissed off too many of those other countries whose opinions you're now dismissing.

I agree that China is on the rise obviously. I agree that we are currently becoming very misguided here in the U.S. as of late. Actually tremendously misguided. Actually I don't think that we can sit around and not care what the rest of the world thinks (that was said in haste I guess). We are as we once were, asleep. I don't know what wakes us up. Our attention span seems to be about as short as George Bush's. I just know that I abhore the idea of foreign countries picking, or cozying up to one of our presidential candidates. I think Obama's world wide victory tour was premature. It's fine for a president to act that way, but I say he should wait till he's at least president elect. First you win the beauty contest, and then you go on tour.

Secondly, and I should not have to explain this, Risk is a 'game' of global domination and I was joking about that. I guess I should use a so you could understand. I was indirectly referencing the Seinfeld episode in which Kramer and Newman were playing Risk. At the end of the episode they are on a subway trying to play the game when Kramer states how the Ukraine is "weak" in a Russian voice. A stranger who happens to be Ukranian over hears this and destroys their board game. Anyway I guess I can't bring Seinfeld into a thread that states we should give Russia a 'bloody nose' right now, from a pacifist from Canada. Ooops.

Lastly, I like Canada. Always have. I love Gretzky, and Molson, and Montreal Canadiens, and polar bears, well I guess I haven't always been nice to the polar bears, but when we need Canada, somtimes, they are less than willing to really help. I know you are an independent country, but we share so many of the same ideals, I just wish you could back us up a little more as neighbors. I know WWII and all ya'll were absolutely great, but I think you were doing that for the Commonwealth and not so much for us.

The video didn't post As for a Canadian I don't like when are Country is asked to get involved in a Volitile situation that we did not start or do not wish to take part in ! There have been times where mistakes have been made and the puppet master calls upon and leaves usthere in place while they duck out.

Canadians are serving - and dying - in Afghanistan, as part of the "War on Terror."

Please remember that the next time you assert we're not "backing you up," or that we're not pulling our weight. I, for one, am glad Canada didn't blindly go along with the misguided war in Iraq. It doesn't make us pacifists, it makes us smart.

As for WWII, Canada - along with the Commonwealth and the United States - were in it to help rid Europe of **** oppression.

Well I know the Americans will be there if and when the Canadians need our help, but to be honest you Canadians keep your noses so clean you'll probably never even need to ask.

I've got to say, I'm so glad you are around Hollywood to set me straight. I wish I had all the answers you did.

Excuse me, Mr Pot.

Actually, I'm multitasking...cooking dinner, pleasuring my girlfriend, watching TV...and working on the computer all at the same time.

God I'm talented. Must be a Canadian thing.

I'm still feeling kinda nostalgic because of my trip to Europe, so I'm really not in a mood to go anywhere.

Actually everyone else is asleep and I took a nap earlier, so I can't sleep.

You know its funny you mentioned NASCAR Zoran, I got NASCAR '09 for the 360 and was going to open that up and play that tonight, but instead I thought I would take a peek on TMS and ended up offending an entire country.
