Im recovering a clients exchange email. They deleted all of their data off of their new computer, and thankfully I still had the OST from their old computer so they will have most of it. The problem was, during the time between systems, they also moved to a different hosted exchange so couldnt just pull it off the server. I found this program to convert OST to PST.. its been converting this 14GB OST file since last Wednesday.

Nothing really more to say, just anyone thats dealt with this crap knows how much i want to right now.

This reminds me of a time when I installed cat5e and coax lines in an electrical engineer's house. All the lines went into a closet, in his office, well his office had multiple framed pictures of naked women ( a couple of them were of his wife) hanging on the wall. You would think he would have covered them up, so I wouldn't see them, but nope

I used to be a network admin for a Fortune 500 company that for legal reasons shall remain nameless. One of my duties was to handle the repair and replacement of all management laptops. I have found things that have led more than one person to be escorted off the property in hand cuffs.

If it's on the system, I'll find it. This particular company is a military weapons contractor, so hard drive searches were VERY thorough. Even if you deleted the file I could still find and recover it.

Pictures of wives/girlfriends/boyfriends were not uncommon. Those usually resulted in a written warning. It's the pictures of children and non-humans that were career enders, and I've run into that more than once.

I can take that a step further.

I also now work for a small company. In fact I'm the entire IT department at our location, and not only do I control the firewall and filters, I also have an entirely separate ISP piped to my office that no one else uses. We keep it open as a backup in case our primary ISP goes down (during the busy season we can loose $50k per hour if we are down) but since no one else knows about it except me and my totally non-technical boss, I've routed it into my office and have an entirely separate little network setup, all for me.
