So what did you think of Top Gear?

I think Rutledge was referring to Tanner doing the commentary during the Stig laps, not the driving itself. His quote reworded would be that Rutledge did half of the interviews, Adam the other half of the interviews, and Tanner does pretty much all of the play-by-play audio commentary during the Stig laps (which Tanner usually does).
Agreed though, the show is tough to watch and I'm glad Top Gear UK is back on.

[QUOTE=lsanch33;5977891]I thought it was OK . . . .. . I guess these 3 aren't going to AUTOMATICALLY discriminate against American cars! That always PISSES me off in the UK show, especially whenthey talk S**T about American Fords (Mustangs, GTs, etc) . . .. they do love European Fords (Fiestas, Focus, etc) . . . .
Speaking as a UK member, I have to agree about the bad reviews american cars get on uk top gear. And I am not alone. We have such threads as this on mustang owners club of GB and the programe gets a propper slating if american cars get a dig.
Thing is Clarkson has done DVDs with mustangs, corvettes ect and loved them. Hammond is also an american car fan, even owns a fastback so it does **** me off when on the rare occasion they have an american car on it it is going to be hammered or put against a bmw m3 or something.

I was OK with the first episode until the monster truck bit. Part of the charm of the Top Gear projects is that half-assed nature. The monster "conversions" looked more like they just bolted the body shells onto existing trucks, and definitely looked too professional.

good episode!! i really wanna see next weeks. that CRX was so EFFED after that crash, but it was cool IMO how it drove away on 3 wheels. i wish they didnt use so many camera angles on that drag race. that Ferrari sounded beautiful... looked good in black too.

I was pleasantly surprised. They're less slavishly adhering to the TG:UK format, which is a good idea since they have commercials to deal with. It's flowing better, though the studio sequences are still on the rough side (Tanner has no idea how to manage a transition).
