Well no storms yet today, gotta get my interior finished up. I'm really not interested in driving anywhere if its going to rain with how much cleaning I just did...

If you're looking for a desktop, I'd go with the iMac. You get a lot for your money and honestly, I'd get one if I needed a new CPU, but my 5 year old MacBook Pro still runs like it did when it was new. If you're looking for a laptop, I'd either get a MacBook Pro or the MacBook Air, depending on how much lightweight is important to you...both are great though.

Software is still somewhat limited for Mac unless you run bootcamp. Other than that, I think all pcs kinda suck. Although I do have a tendency to run too many programs at a time.

iMacs are **** near idiot proof.

I got tired of all the problems with windows registry errors and failures. Not to mention viruses. I've been problem free for 2 years.

Had the same experience Gary. Just got sick of all the issues with Windows, that slowed down or crashed the CPU. My Macs just cruise.

As for software, I guess it just depends on which software you want. When it comes to photography and video, I find the Mac offerings to be better, which is what I wanted on my home CPU, so the switch for me was great across the board. I'm sure there is some software that PC's are better at though too. It just wasn't anything I needed, so no issues for me. However, that does raise a good point, as if there is a certain PC specific software that you use all the time, that could influence what CPU would be the best for you. On the flip side, there is some software for Macs that isn't available for PCs, just depends on what you need and use Dly. Good luck with the decision.

Build your own! Cheaper, more stable, no bloated pre installed software.
I have built many gaming pc's in my life, no issues.

I'm BACK

Both My Daughters use Macs in their work (one works for the local newspaper and the other at the local PBS tv station). They both tell me how their Macs crash and burn about once a month. Sounds about the same PC or Mac.

Bought a custom builted one from a local company here C & P distributing. Used Intel motherboard and a i3 CPU for what I needed. 1 TB Hard Drive and 4 megs of ram. Copied my old HD and saved all my photos. $800

Scotty I get a discount to from Dell but the guys above promised 1 day service on a Sunday and have a good rep around here.

Thanks for all the replys guys it all helps

Mine is paid for but I need someone to wash and detail her............Any takers???? Things have been crazy around here the last 3 weeks. Karen is traveling way to much...one of the hounds had to have $1,000 emergency surgery 2 weeks ago. She is now fine. And work is now crazy busy. Guess this is good right???
