I'd disagree, but my manual also has like no torque.
I have no concept of snow. Or ice. I do have a quite a bit of experience in roads that are sudden;y rained on after being dry for 3 months. That stuffs pretty slick. But nothing like ice.
With ice, it doesn't really matter what you do, it's just a mess to drive on. With snow, you have options....and the best thing is to get snow tires. If you want to limit torque, you can start in 2nd, or just let off the clutch oh so slowly. With an auto, you cannot control the level of acceleration as well, nor can you "rock" the car back and forth like you can with a manual. I have spent far more days driving in snow than I ever would have wished.

I had to start in second a couple times in the notch. I honestly haven't had a single problem in the GT yet this winter. You just have to feather the gas. It's a lot easier than having to mess with a clutch.

Actually, never thought of that. I have to admit, I haven't driven an auto since prior to buying my first Stang 11+ years ago, other than the occasional rental, so I can only truly speak about what you can do when driving a manual. Heck, I get in an auto these days and it feels like the vehicle is missing some parts. I guess driving a manual has just become second nature to me now.

That's how I always feel after I've been driving my notch. I get in a another car and start panicking because I can't find the clutch.

Actually, never thought of that. Hey Dirk,
How is things going over there?? I hope just fine. I wish Darrell could bring that Raptor of his down and see if his "big truck" can handle my 4 ft high drifts!! If he could have gotten up my driveway the last couple of weeks I have me a big truck also!!

Its going good. it would be lots better if it wasnt raining and going to rain the next few days. Work has been also. keeping us bust thank goodness.

I have about 250 feet of snow fence in the garage. Found out years ago I can't ever get it in the right place all the time. I have farms to the north, west and south of me. I would have to ring the house with it to protect us. Or you guy up north can just keep it up there where it belongs. The Ford link would never open for me. I assume it is a Raptor.

And yes the ford link is to a Germain Ford in Columbus, Ohio with a Raptor with your name on it.
