I got tomorrow off work so I can go to the track. I'll let you guys know what the car runs, I'm expecting around 13.5 or so with the JLT intake, Bama tunes, and Steeda under-drive pullies.

No stickes? I was running 13.3 with those mods. Added O/R-H and DR's and hello 12.8's
and of course shifting like a mad man.

Yeah I read all of that, and a bunch of other stuff too. My problem is that my wiring looks fine, there are no splices anywhere on any wire, it's a new alternator and still throws codes, etc. etc.
So now I'm wondering:
1) is the camshaft position sensor bad?
2) do I have a problem elsewhere that's tripping that sensor?
Funny thing is, both alternators charge up like a SOB, car runs strong, no battery issues (still on the stocker for almost 3 years) and all connections are tight.

Well I wish I could help you but I am a mechanic not an electrican. Your problem seems to me not to be the alternator but something else. I really don't understand how the cam position sensor can cause you to throw an alternator code but....... can you give me some more info?

Scott, research the TSB that Ford has out. A common problem on 05/06 alternators is that they go bad- when they start to fail, the begin to emit a tone (you can't hear it with human ears) and the camshaft position sensor picks this tone up and it faults out. The TSB will replace the alternator under warranty (assuming you don't have something like a...... blower...... or something like that hahahaaa)
This is why I went ahead and purchased a new alternator, however it didn't help.

One of my friends said today she expects a text message after every run I make to let her know what kind of time I run. I don't have slicks but I do have some pretty good shifting skills. Time to put my new Grabber Pony shift **** to the test.

She is a cutie and she is one heck of a racer. Lot's of guts in that little 105 lb body. She deserves to win. As far as that grand prize goes......
