Those rims look familiar! I got your gunmetals
Not a bad idea if you are truly happy with the color.
You can drive out to my house and pop one of mine on your car if you want to see how the gunmetal looks. They are currently loose in the garage, and the cars on 3 floor jacks and 2 jack stands, lol.
I was installing rotors, cleaning calipers, and planned on painting them but ran out of time and temperature. Will paint them tomorrow once it hits 60 degrees.
and of course, unfinished pics.

I'm thinking I want the black ones anyway, wasn't sure at first. It'll look freaking awesome. I'm usually driving the Escort to work and back anyway so the Mustang won't be driven as many miles this summer as last year (14k last year from March to October). The darker rims will hide the brake dust too.

Thanks. It has been my daily driver since 10/05. With 2 1/2 winters. I would clean it from the underside at work on a lift with the wheels off twice a year. It needs to be done again in fact.

240 miles and 19 mpg average later, and I'm back from Osceola Dragway!
The Brenspeed crew was there and Darrell came out as promised..... it was great to see everyone again! Made three passes...... first was a horrible 12.5.
BUT, then the 2nd and 3rd passes...... :
11.854 and 11.861! Finally smashed out of the 12s and into the 11s with the help from my new M&H racemasters! I'm stoked! It is now officially beer :30 for me here at the house!
I will let Darrell tell about his times.... he met his goal and should be happy!

Great news that you got out of the 12's Tom. What did you do different...easy up a little at the line? That's what some say helps their times the most. What was you MPH on those 11 runs?? Come in Darrell...what was your times. I would be curious what my car would run but you can't tell Karen or it would be divorce court for me.. Maybe STD will come out and we can put the 2 auto's up head to head!!

Well I'm exhausted from my 30 minute drive home from OC Drags. Now be nice and remember that this is my very 1st time racing at a Drag strip. First of all wihen I got there I needed to turn around and go to the Wally World down the street to buy some long pants as I was wearing Shorts. Found Tommie and the Brenspeed crew. Watched for a little bit and learned how to do the staging and burn outs. First run I was up against a Automatic Mustang...Reaction time .3669 60ft.....2.36 ET was 14.80 at 99.97mph Spinning tires all the way down the strip and letting off to early and loss.
Second run was agaist a white vette Reaction .3488 60ft. 2.30 ET13.51 at 107.94
plus he fouled but I still beat him down the strip.
Third and final run was agaist a new BMW M3(??) reaction .225 60ft. 2.33 ET 13.73 at 106.90 and I beat him by .1742.
Not great times or speed but for the 1st time I'm happy, no damage to the car. Brent offer to let me run some Drag Radials but I didn't take him up on the offer.
Tommie was flying and I could For forgetting my Camera's and not getting any pictures or video.
All in all it was a great day

Hey Darrell,
I can make you feel better. My first time at the strip and first run down the strip was March 27th 1997. I owned a 96 Cobra with a Kennebell supercharger on it running 10 lbs of boost. Short story...I blew it up. So I would say you are light years ahead of me!!!!! Sounds like you had fun at least!!!

Scott, my MPH was 119. What I did different this time was actually not much different than before, except before I could not get traction. This time, light turns green- rev and dump the clutch and hold on.... shift fast because 2nd gear comes quick LOL. On the 11's the front-end feels like it's coming off the ground.

Hello all!
Darrell,
How did the Bridal Shower go? Got one here next Sat. myself.I'll be glad when the wedding is done, waaay too much work.
O.K., besides all the work around the house I did get 2 things done to the Stang. Installed the delete plates & fixed my water leak.
Delete plate install was easy, no issues. I did notice a SLIGHT loss in low-end torque, very minor though. No real difference otherwise. We'll see the next dyno how much I actually picked up
Water leak; I'd read about the issue with some 05-07's. Once last year, I noticed a musty smell when I got in the car. No damp carpet, I've been checking every rain, no problems. I guess we had a heavy day of rain when I was in Dallas. When I got home, I found 1/4" of water on my pass side floor. Pulled the carpet & pad, dried everything off. Time to deal with this. Local dealer only has the 'water leak' guy in every other Tues for 2hrs. Poohey on that
There is a large harness that enters the cabin behind the pass. side
inner fender splash shield. The feed-through grommet is where most folks are having the issue with. Pulled my inner fender & found mine not fully seated, the way the harness pulls on it, it'd be hard to get it in correctly. Mine had a nice gap @ the bottom. I sealed all around the grommet with an aviation sealer we use, but silicone or similar would work as well. I've attached photos of the culprit.Just above that area is where all the water funnels down from off the windshield, wiper area. Easy fix, took me about an hour total. The inner fenderwell is only held in place with plastic push-pins.
Scott,
I'm kinda getting used to the exhaust. Has a nice snarl to it. **** loud when you open it up
I'm going to stick with mine the way it is for now. Have to get those mounts next & then some sequentials.
Congrats on you breaking into the 11's Tom
Thats about my longest post ever, probably be a week or 2 for my next
