What Inspired Your Color Choice?
I have to admit there were hardly any colors I really liked in this years and next years options. I wasn't about to wait for an 07 though! So I was split between Mineral Gray, Black, Redfire, and Windveil. It finally came down to black and mineral gray.
I went with Mineral Gray because it is by far the most elegant color of the group and black on black (with in the interior) was too monotone for me after living with a grey on grey Civic for four years.

I have owned cars with several colors, Green, Red, Black, Gold.... I Had a 69 chevelle with a Emerald green metalic custom paint job. I guess that is still me favorite color I have ever owned in the past. Black looks great, but it is a pain to keep clean ( My Ranger Bass Boat is Black and gold )...
I have always liked a Silver car with red leather interior, but never owned one before. It just has a classy look to me. Once I saw the combo on the 05 GT I was sold... Of course, to me, the red metalic stripes really improve the over all look of the car....
P.S. I like the other colors just about as well. Each has a unique appeal to me...

After driving in red hand me down oldsmobiles from my dad much of my life I wanted something different.
I was a Limer all the way after seeing the pics in the brochure. After seeing it in person I was sure that was the right one. If I was going to go for the vert ii would have gotten the Mineral Grey, but after deciding on the coupe it was a definate choice for the Lime.

Talking about color. I hope this doesn't make some one mad, but, my son has a friend whose mother ordered a 05 GT. White, ok that is right I can live with that but she special ordered pink interior. Pink, Cotton Candy pink. What in the heck was she thinking. She has some one who is waiting for the car to redo the inside. How crazy is that?

Actually Motor Trend did a Photoshop job on the '06. They changed the interior color to blue because they thought it would look cool.

I wouldn't mind having lime green inserts on my seats and inside my door panels. Wild exterior color... why stop there?
Hey, so long as this lady is happy, that's all that matters. Interiors can always be swapped out, no harm done!
We went to the dealer as a family. My wife instantly wanted Screaming Yellow which suprised me.
It was a 6 cylinder & I wanted a GT. :bang: They had 2 Black ones & both of them were filthy! :bang: After about a week of checking the internet & other lots I was pretty sold on Mineral Grey (which is actually Brown). I figured I could drive it 10 MPH faster before I got stopped for speeding because it looked so conservative.
When I got ready to order one I asked my 3 teenage boys if we should get the Mineral Grey or the Screaming Yellow. They all told me Sonic Blue!
I call it Fire Engine Blue, but that's what we ordered! I figure one of them will probably eventually end up with it anyway!
Now, if it would just get here!

My inspiration:

It'll be fairly rare, plus I just think white cars (in general, not ALL cars) are super hot, esp with darker windows. My car, with the mods I have planned, is sure to be
hehehe
Back up:
Red Fire (pretty common)
Sonic Blue (really nice...this was a toss up)
Silver - too boring, too COMMON
Black - been there, done that
W/B, L/L, M/G - not my style
Screamin Yellow - too loud
Torch Red - too dark
Just my opinons here.
I know of many people that cringed when they heard I ordered a white mustang...only those with true 'vision' understand my plans

Chris, good posting!
The first 05 we saw was the torch red at night; loved it! Saw it the next day I thought someone painted it orange. I wish I never saw it at night. There was some other forgettable colors but they didn’t reregistered. Everything looked good but not for me.
Decided I wanted my wife to get more involved with my mustang fever, we look at brochures, internet and drove to all the areas Ford dealers. We both made list of ok and never. We tested a white v6 and both were surprised that we loved it, sharp and classy. (Still haven’t drove a GT, I hope we will like it)
It didn’t hurt that 50 years ago my mother’s first new car was a white 1955 Ford, I grew up hearing story about that car how wonderful it was. Then the first 1965 mustang in 1964 was white, the first 2005 mustang was white, and of course the GT350’s were first white.
I wouldn’t call any of these reasons more like layers, and they might be a bit unfair because we have not seen all of the colors in real life. I glad I got my wife involved she is going just as crazy wondering when and if our 05 will be built or not.

It just dawned on me one day. People kept asking me "Why green?" and I kept telling them "Why not?" I've driven cars in virtually every color available. I like change, and I like being different. I started thinking about what influenced me to choose Legend Lime over my earlier considerations. As I indicated, there were several contributing factors. I thought it would be interesting to hear what influenced everyone else. I'm glad I asked the question; I think we all know each other a little better as a result. I've enjoyed the exchange of remarks. The reasons were as varied as the colors! (There are websites that devote a lot of thought to the importance in choosing car colors. Do a search. You'll be surprised by what you find!)
I am glad that you got your order into the system. Now those fine folks at Ford need to assemble your baby! I hope you get a build date soon. Even in the worst case scenario, you'd get an '06. It would be nice for you to get your car sooner though, so we can compare notes and hear your impressions. I'm certain you will be thoroughly satisfied. JD Power & Associates named the Mustang third in it's class in initial quality. Considering all of the cars in the field, I'd call that praise!

Exactly what I was thinking, not too many understand and agree with my choice of the White..

Looks good (you too GottaHaveIt!!)!! I've only ever seen two Performance White mustangs in person...one V6 on my dealer's lot and a GT back in November when I was down in FLA on vacation. Odd really...because I had decided long ago that my mustang would be white, and the first GT I saw on the road was that white one in FLA. It was fate
Anyways, I'm praying that the 06 order guides get released soon, both in the US and here in Canada. I pray everyday that Ford Canada adds spoiler delete to the list of options, as well as the 18" fanblade wheels. They'll make it worth the wait, at least a bit!
