Screaming Yellow - Too flashy/look at me color.

I picked silver as my color. I even told the dealer. Then I headed over to the dealer the next day and when we were filling out the order sheet he confirmed I wanted silver and for some reason I blurted out, "Windveil Blue, please." It was one of those moments where you can't believe what you just said. It was my third choice, too. Why did I say that?
A clear case of my heart over-riding my brain. The best decision I made.

My '94 GT was black and looked sharp (when clean). I had her for over 10 years. But the body style of the '05 reminds me of my '65 289 2+2 which was silver. So for the sake of nostalgia, I chose Satin Silver for my '05 GT.

Let's see...my wife wanted yellow because:
1) she used to own a yellow '70 fastback that she loved (even though it rusted out from under her
)
2) our all-time favorite funny car was the yellow & black "Frantic Ford" Mustang II, driven by Dodger Glenn
3) I bought her a new '98 Chrome Yellow Cobra and it ended up a garage queen/show car (still taking the heat over this one!
)

Windveil Blue because black is too difficult to keep and one black mustang is enough in our garage. All my previous mustangs have been red and I have never before owned a blue car. In 1967 I got to drive a friend's new Shelby GT 500 home from a dealer in Toronto and guess What ? It was wb and when I saw the 05's Ihad to have one in that colour. It looks grea clean or dirty and always gets lots of looks and attention from most people and they all say it's BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!
Too cool, guys and gals.
I knew color played an important role in choosing your Mustang. In fact, I'd go so far as to say people are "passionate" about their choice!
Loved the remark about my Legend Lime looking like an early '70s refrigerator. So true! Avacado was also everywhere in those days! The paint on my '71 Plymouth was called "Amber Sherwood Poly." In fact, it was triple green; it had a dark green vinyl top and interior. Seems you couldn't get enough green in those days. It's a retrospective color for sure!
A guy at work asked me if I bought my Mustang like that or if I had restored it myself! I had to inform him that it was a brand new car! He had no idea that Ford dipped into the past before casting their mold for their car of the future...
Honestly, sometimes I feel like I'm driving a "show car."

I am partial to blue, its a family thing.
If you look at car history in my family, the majority have been blue. I decided to keep the tradition going (given I love the color)
I liked windveil, but I didn't have enough "pop" to it for me.
I have seen sonic on a few Lightnings, and Mustangs around town and love the way the color lights up in the sun, it really highlights all the lines of the car.

Always wanted a red car for the "look at me" factor. But I wanted a "classy" colour. Redfire is by far my favorite colour on this car. I feel that metallic colours really bring out the detail of the 05. As well, the colour doesn't hide any features.
After seeing the showcar, I was practically sold on the colour. I debated Torch for a while since it was my previous favorite on the SN95's, but after seeing it in person, it was no contest IMO.

Ford stopped using laser red, so redfire was the next best thing. I love red cars, especially when they're waxed, and especially when they're mine
Edit: having lived with my charcoal leather interior for a while now, I'm almost glad I didn't get the car I originally ordered that had ICAP. Although Dan's car looks nice.

My first choice was yellow. I had a 68 Galaxie vert that i was only the second owner of. I sold it and ordered one of the first T-birds [also yellow]. It took too darn long so I cancelled it and bought an '01 GT vert [in yellow}. Was going to order an '04 vert but our Ford rep told me to wait an showed me a very early pic of the '05 which as most of you did, I said gotta have it.
So I was relinquished into keeping the '01 another year or so when all of a sudden a customer traded in an'04 with 3000 miles with the shaker stereo [also yellow]. i jumped on it and kept it until last year when I ordered the '05. I also ordered yellow again but my lovely wife and I mean that said, honey I am really tired of yellow and remember how you liked that 66 LeMans you had in HS and it was black [called it black beauty]. So I relinquished and changed the color to black.
I am not sorry as I look out my window and see this beauty.
Here's a pic of Ed's Gal and a 46 tht I had when I was in the Navy as my toy.

screaming yellow cuz it stands out. in addition, all the leather packages seemed to be custom tailored to black and red cars, and since a billion of these things are gonna be on the roads in a yr or 2 i wanted sumn less common and more noticeable
My wife demanded Torch Red with ICAP and IUP, with a 5 speed manual to boot. This chick is awesome! (My F150 XLT Super Crew is White, and her Expedition EB is black); this will be a welcome addition to the garage! I can't wait to see this beauty!

Black
but I ordered sonic blue, because I am a BLUE fanatic,
my last 4 vehicles have been blue. Then I Saw a sonic blue v6 and didnt much care for the purple look... still I stuck with my order until my dealer said I may not get my car.
Then I called around and found a black one at 1500 over invoice... I Like BLACK it was my second choice anyway
So Black is what I ended up with.

I think everyone must have changed their minds on the color before they made a final decision. I know I did. When I first saw the pics I thought the WB was the color for sure. The first 05 mustang I saw in person was the Torch Red. I was checking out the car in general but was saying to myself why go with a previous color like bright red? Get something different. I was leaning towards either a LL or WB. After seeing them in person I was not that fond of those retro colors. I thought they looked kind of dull. So at that point I basically eliminated the colors I did not want which were white, redfire, sonic blue, yellow, legend lime, WB and silver. Mineral Grey was a consideration for a few days along with black. Ironically after a few weeks of going back and forth to the dealer I ended up convinced to go with the Torch Red. What I love about the Torch is it just stands out over the other colors with the exception of the S.Y. which certainly was not a consideration. To me the metallic colors though nice are a little on the dull side without the sunlight. The torch stands out even with a black sky....

Legend Lime - Reminds me too much of the color of a 1970's refrigerator

My 2003 Ranger was sonic blue, and I loved that color, but didnt want it twice because it showed every scratch....I had a torch red one as a rental, and absolutely had to have that color. I went to the dealer. And they had all different colors. But the torch red was a stick. Why did I get a screaming yellow mustang? Cause it was the only automatic he had in stock. But i've always liked yellow, so im pleased with it. And I enjoy the attention I get with it. However if he had the torch red in an automatic, I wouldve bought it!
Red exterior with Black exterior has always looked great to me, on any car.
Even clothes and shoes with black/red combo (chicago bulls style) always looks great.
But, my wife really wanted silver. I actually had to negotiate and give her $2k in cash just to get to choose the redfire exterior
The light silver is just too light, I find it hides the contour of the mustang. The new tungsten though, wow.
I think if my 05 v6 vert order gets bumped to an 06, I will upgrade to the tungsten silver, and get the $2000 back from my wife :P

I picked The performance White from a kid thing I was riding my Bros bike I was to small so I side saddled and whiped out in a subway and the car that was about to finish me off and no lie his good leg was in a full cast so he was left leggin it stopped just short of the end. talked to me seen I was freaked took me and my bike home, So Being his Ford Galaxie was white I have 99 % have owned a white vehicle since that ! is the only rational explanation I have Other that I get to was it depend on use Once a day ! GottaLoveIt
