What Inspired Your Color Choice?
I was going to get a Blue either W/B or Sonic,(my first two Mustangs were blue and my wife thought for sure I was going to get another)when we went to the dealer they had three V-6s on the lot two W/Bs and one Performance White...My last car(02Altima was white and I had a 93 Escort that was white)well the Performance White caught my eyes and begged me to take her home....
this was a determining factor as well, but since the one I bought already had a black rocker panel stripe I went with the black stripes...my youngest son Stirling calls my Mustang a Zebra now..

I LOVE the old GT 350 and GT 500 white w/ blue stripe combo, and I think that white is timeless and clasic, so i chose Performance White

No inspiration really, just liked the color. My color of choice really is black but my last car was black and really was a PITA to keep up. I was going to buy the last car in a similar blue to sonic but it came with tan interior which I have to have in black. I really flip flopped on color with the Mustang first wanting the legend lime, but deciding I may get tired of it after awhile. Then it was a toss up between the sonic blue and the redfire. After looking at the color samples at the dealership then seeing a V6 in sonic, I knew it would be the blue. I love it, purple or not, it's a great color.
==The best would be to have a vert in WB, but hey ... perfection is not of this world, isn't it ?==
Especially the stang world, it's either choose from what is available or order and lose years off your life chewing your nails to the quick for 6 months
It'll be interesting to see how many of us make a switch in a year or 2 after the supply and demand evens out. Can you imagine going to a dealership and being able to choose from 20 GTs? Hard to imagine now, but it will happen at some point.

Did you all who Did not order know when you spotted THE ONE?
Brad spotted a hauler full back in November, and then my salesman called to come see them(the ones he saw were headed my way).
Eleanor rolled off........She was the one. Meant to be- two purchases fell through-and many more passed cause she was a six, she sat on the showroom floor until I could assemble my down payment. I drove her home with 12 miles on her.
When she was off the truck, all I could think was I WANT THIS CAR.......And she was covered over in gawkers.

I saw a white 2005 Ford GT on the showroom floor with blue stripes and thought what if I bought a white Mustang GT and had the stripes applied. White it was but if I saw a WB at the time I purchased it would've been a toss-up between the two.

Great hearing everyone's motivation. Very interesting stories, all around. It goes to show you how important color is in choosing a car.
For me it came down to Mineral Gray and Sonic Blue. I ended up choosing SB after seeing Adrenalin's car. It reminded me of the colors used on the Shelby American racing Cobras back in the 60's (my inspiration). So I ordered Sonic, and my build date is May 30. I will definately go with the white rocker stripe, but the white LeMans stripes will depend on the hood I end up with. (I really like dhof303's combo with the Steeda hood) Now if I can just locate some Halibrands to fit an '05 and not cost a fortune, I'll have my own version of a "Cobraized" Mustang.
For us it was easy: match the 66 Black Fastback. I say easy, I mean the color choice was easy. Finding it was a little more difficult, but I actually found it at 3:30 pm on a lot 45 miles away, and had the paperwork finished and drove it home by 8:00! I don't want to brag, but I also got it for $1000 under sticker and the dealer treated us to some mexican food too! What a night that was ...
I wanted the red interior and the only exterior colors that I personally thought it looked good with were black or red. I would rather get hit in the foot with a hammer than to own another black car. So, torch red it was.
Had I waited a year, I would have a white car because of the new blue leather interior package that is coming out. White car, blue interior, and blue stripes would look sweet, especially on a vert!

I originally ordered windveil blue, explaining my login name. I was getting the run around having ordered it on xplan back on 11/19. It was still clean and unscheduled on 3/7 so i decided to check out was was on the lot after having gotten a call from the salesman at the local dealership.
They had a black one there and i fell in love with it. It is a labor of love to keep it clean but when it is clean it looks beautiful, like a polished piece of black glass.
And it looks mean coming up behind people who are camping out in the left lane on the highway.

I'm pretty sure Brad would be willing to change your handle if you asked him too. "05BlackGT" has a nice ring to it!
I wanted torch red because my parents bought a new 64 1/2 red (not sure which red exactly but it was bright) mustang gt vert. Just a few years ago, my mom bought a 66 gt vert which was also red--a little darker though as you can see in my picture to the left.
I guess I had to carry on the tradition. Kind of cool cause my dad was also 28 when he bought the original mustang. I guess it just fits.

My color choice was inspired by the same thing that has inspired most of the color choices in my life ever since I can remember. The University of Kentucky Wildcats. UK basketball is like an obsession around here.
Black looks exceptional when clean. A friend at the office just picked up a black vert with white stripes and 20" rims - it looks great!
I almost went with legend because my first Stang was a lime 66.
WVB was my clear choice because of reasons noted by Boomer and others.
It fits my personality and I only wash her once a week.

Having the car look like the old car thought it was right to have color that would reflect that. Also thought it would easy to keep up compared to a darker color.
At least once a week when I first got the car someone come up to me and say
"My mustang that I had in the 60's was that exact color." I even had my mailman tell me his first car was a camaro that color. I have only seen one more legend lime on the road around here a v6 going opposite way on a canyon road.

I chose windveil becuase I knew it would be a unique color among the redfire/torch red and black mustangs....But I have not seen a single 05 that I have not liked!
(BLue is also my fave color!!!)
As for "Knowing it WAS THE ONE,"...I didn't even get to see mine until it was brought home.....I knew the color and specifics (IUP, Wheels, etc.)....but when it pulled into the driveway, I knew it was mine!!! The car I would have ordered if I had conviced my dad to do it!
