I absolutely love Legend Lime. Although I am very enthusiastic about my choice, I don’t feel it’s necessary to trash anyone else’s choice of colors.

I may have been persuaded to choose Legend Lime by a couple of factors:
A. The 1971 Plymouth GTX I restored years ago,
B. My cat’s eye color, (she’d like to think so)
C. It’s an uncommon color,
D. I’ve had so many blue cars in recent years, or
E. It’s easy to spot in a parking lot

Now that you’ve made your choice, what inspired you to choose YOUR color?

I wanted black.....Till I realized I was too lazy to wash it daily
I wanted lime or WB till hubby said he wouldn't pay for a car those colors
Then I wanted silver- until I saw another one just before Ellie came home someone had bought.(I wanted to have MY OWN)

always thought I was not enough of an attention hog for yellow, but I loved it-
Ellie came off the truck, I fell in love and yellow it was.

Dealer said "it's on the truck now coming in from Michigan and you can have it for MSRP if you give me a deposit today".

I said "what color is it?"

Dealer said "black".

I said "then I choose black".

I got a ride in one of the preproduction prototypes last summer and it had ICAP & IUP. Once I saw that porno red interior, I knew that mine would have it.
For the exterior, I found that the black best complimented the lines of the car, highlighting the aggressiveness of the front end, and minimized the way it can look too thick in the middle (like me). I also found that the rear quarter window treatment can look odd on the other colors, like the trim is missing or something... With the black, the window is far less noticeable. IMHO, with the polished wheels I find the black and red to be a very striking package.
Paul

PS.
My second choice was Redfire, I find that that color also suits the shape of the car very well, there are no bad choices with this car.

Well, for the last 3.5 years I had a red car; a 1990 T-Bird SC and then a 2000 Mustang V6. Red has always been 3rd in line as my favorite color choice.

My favorite color however, has always been black. Funny thing is I have never owned a black car for what ever reason. I guess because I have never bought/ordered a new car so I was alwys kind of stuck with what I found. When I decided to order my 05 Stang I was really thinking about going with black but I changed my mind last minute due to the condition of other cars I have seen. I dont mind keeping it up but what worried me is the swirls. I have seen black cars that have just been washed and look awful especially when the sun is out due to the swirls. So, thats when I decided on the satin silver since silver has always been my second best color.

I do have a feeling though that my next car is going to be black since I have now owned a red and silver car. I dont car for any other color for myself especially white.

My sister had a Lime Green Mustang back in the sixties. I thought it was really cool even though I was just a kid at the time. That's one of the reasons that I wanted Legend Lime. Plus, I think it makes the 05 Mustang look more retro IMO.

It's interesting to hear why people chose one color in particular. There's no right or wrong about it; only personal preferences. I also had other favorites. I started pining over Sonic Blue, then gravitated towards Screaming Yellow, then swore I would get a Torch Red before finally choosing the Legend Lime. Ironically, I wasn't too keen on the green initially. It just grew on me... like moss!

Now I can't imagine having another color. Oh, and I almost forgot... the car hides dirt and pollen really well. A big benefit this time of year in particular!

Plainly put, the "UNIQUENESS" of the color.
No bashing other colors here, 05 Mustangs are "Things of Beauty"
Legend Lime just happens to be my favorite.

I went with Redfire because of all the pre-production press photos. I loved the color of the car especially at night. I gotta find that shot of the car on the street at night.... omg gorgeous. My last car was this flat looking red... and I just love the metallic sheen of the redfire. I also wanted a color that would take the red leather interior... cause that's just pimp.

Well, I have a 2006 Redfire V6 on order. I really had a hard time deciding on the color. What probably settled it is the fact that my dad bought a 1965 Mustang new and it was red.

I got my second choice of color, Torch Red. My first choice was Redfire, but when I saw it w/ the ICAP I decided to get the Torch Red. The ICAP was a must.

Porno Red... I love it!

when black is clean and waxed and detailed IMO nothing looks better and when you can get the car to thge point where the paint looks like it is going to drip off the car, youve done a great job. im trying to go for the ultimate wet look. Black looks the best at that imo though very hard to keep clean

The first time I saw Sonic Blue on a Mustang was in late 2002 as I drove past the car in a parking lot, and I really liked the color.
Then in May of 2003 when I was looking for a new Mustang I decided on two colors...True Blue (didn't like the color when I saw it in person) and Sonic Blue.

I found a 2003 Mustang GT in Sonic Blue at another dealership online and asked my dealer to get the car for me...picked it up the next day.

Then when I decided to order my 05 I decided to stay with the same colors as my 03...Sonic Blue/Light Graphite....and I have no regrets about my color choices.

The reason I chose the color I did (note, this is just my opinion, no one should take offense to any of this).

Colors I didn't choose:

Black - My previous car is black and got tired of the upkeep and right now the finish looks nothing like it did new and the car is only 3 years old.

Torch Red or Redfire - Too cliche for me.

Legend Lime - Reminds me too much of the color of a 1970's refrigerator

Windveil Blue - Looks too feminine for my tastes, not a big fan of light colors.

White - Just seems too bland.

Screaming Yellow - Too flashy/look at me color.

Okay, those were the colors that I had eliminated, so I was left with Satin Silver, Mineral Gray, and Sonic Blue. I just thought that the Sonic had more personality to it, and the fact it was going to be discontinued also helped. I also love the color changing properties of it. It's the first blue car I have owned since my first car, but that was a darker blue. Actually, this is the first repeat car color I have had, I have owned in order of owning them: blue ('85 Accord), white('93 Probe), red('94 Probe), green('94 Mustang), black('02 Grand Prix).

Windveil:

-Sophisticated/classy colour. Doesn't scream, cause it doesn't need to.
-Steel blue colour is uncommon, not loud, but turns heads
-easy to keep clean
-hides swirls and scratches well
-the colour shift, from deep blue in the shade, to steel blue, to sky blue looks awsome (pictures can't describe it)
-the ladies love it

I chose Windveil Blue because I always wanted a blue car and never really found one I liked. The sonic looks great to me until I see the purplish tint to it. I finally saw W/Blue on a Taurus and loved it. I love the way it changes from lighter to darker with the light so I ordered it. My choice was confirmed when I saw one at the Ford Innovation drive.
I must also say that Redfire was my choice until I finally saw W/Blue. Redfire was almost the same as the truck I had so I really wanted a change.

Edited to add: What Boomer said!
