I'm not 100% sure on that. I thought it had to match your PCM code or something like that.

I was messing around with it last night, and i just can't seem to get the SCT software to recognize it. I'm concerned, because where i expected it to say "married" or "unmarried", it doesn't say either one.

I don't really have any reason to suspect that he lied about it's status. After all, he did remove the CAI and seems to know better than to leave it tuned. Is there another way i can check it's status? Can i mess anything up by plugging it into my car?

I know next to nothing about the SCT tuners, but I have been in IT management for a pretty long time so I can assume some things.
I would expect there to be a power-up status display of some kind and a setup menu that would show previous settings. No docs with it, I suppose? Probably on SCT's website somewhere.

AM got in touch with me today and said that the tuner is still locked. So I've got a locked tuner, if anyone is interested...Make an offer.

But, the other tuner that I bought came in today. It had an issue with the firmware, but SCT fixed it in about 5 minutes. So it's good to go now, and I ordered the free tunes for life from AM. Hopefully I'll have that by tomorrow.

Gonna try to install the JLT on Wednesday and update the tune. And hopefully I'll have the FRPP dual exhaust ordered by Wednesday as well.

Update: I got my first round of tunes from AM today. D-d-d-d-****!...That thing shifts hard! I almost thought something was wrong, but it was just the traction control kicking in because the shift broke the tires loose. It's still kinda wet here, but I'm chirping 3rd gear right now. Throttle response is MUCH improved. And this is just the 87 Street tune. I can't wait to fill up with 93 and try the Race tune.

Even on wet ground, I took at least 2/10th off my 0-60. First try was 6.7s from (7.5s), so I think that might've been a fluke...will have to dig into it more and see.

I also noticed the A/F ratio is now at 14.7. Anyone know what it is when stock? I don't really know what's considered normal, so I'm just curious how much they changed that.

If your A/F ratio is 14.7 at wot you're running lean. If you're N/A it should be in the mid 12's at wot and with a S/C mine is in the low 11's. It should only be 14.7 at idle or very light throttle.

Ok, that makes sense. I got that reading from the Torque app. It seemed to be a static value that was taken when i first started the car.

Things have been kinda slow lately with mods. I've been too busy to get my car in the shop, so still no exhaust. But lately I've been smelling burning rubber/plastic from the engine bay, so I'm getting concerned. I don't see anything blatant that could be causing it. Anyone know if this could be a warning sign of something about to fail?

Could be so many things lol. Could be a saging wire that is too close to the engine, causing the casing to melt. Could be somthing leaking and burning off. When my temp sensor block failed the coolant burning off of the engine smelled kinda like that, but it also came with a lot of smoke lol so your probably fine there. Maybe check and see if you can see any leaks or anything burning off.

Yeah, I know...It's really not much to go on, but that's all I've got so far (I guess that's a good thing). I already checked for anything leaking or anything hanging down that could be melting, but I didn't see anything.

I guess this kinda qualifies as a mod...I've been running with no antenna at all. I never use the radio (always listen to CD's) and hated the way the stock antenna looked. Someone remind me again why we still need visible antennas?...It's 2013. Anyway...Well I recently moved and now have a 30 minute drive each way to work/school everyday, and in the mornings I like to listen to Kidd Kradd*ck. Well with no antenna at all, this was my signal strength for that station:

It was full of static, and I couldn't stand to listen to that, so I got a small cheap billet antenna from Ebay. Here's my signal strength now and a couple of pics of it installed:

The signal strength now is more than sufficient, and I'm very happy with it.
