Well I kinda lied. They make a little difference. Unless you pay close attention you can't really tell

Hmmm. Well let's say you had around $1,000 to play with...What would you do with it?

X pipe or H pipe (off road) ,and straight pipes with maybe some 3.5 in exhaust tips . I'm not sure how the stock exhaust on an S197 v6 is but if it's like a SN95, you can cut after the cats (or before if going OR) and install mid pipe and then from there you can install any GT cat back.

I wouldn't get any aftermarket cats or cut the cats off. Ours sound like doo doo butter w/o cats. I'd get a dual exhaust kit or have duals ran with an H pipe & see how that sounds. Then I'd get the shorties just cause

Edit:
I'm not sure what long tubes sound like on ours but I'd check em out. Possibly alot of searching on YouTube. The video I posted sounds awesome to me. Only differences really is I have an X pipe & shorties. He has an H & stock manifolds

I don't know if this would interest you or not? I have a Dynomax Dual Catback #39434 All stainless with ultraflo mufflers and X-pipe.

I think I'll pass on those, but thanks. Not sure I want the hassle of long tubes at the moment.

Here's a video of the headers on a V6. I honestly have no idea how they sound because my laptops speakers make every exhaust sound like a garbage disposal but maybe it'll help you. haha

Those all sound good. I like the yellow one the most, and the last one the least. But I'm also wanting something that I can pass inspection with. What is the least restrictive muffler?

And anyone have experience with the JLT? How much *extra* power would I be looking at on top of what a tune will give me?

I would say <15, considering you're stock. If its <$150 I would say get it.

Yeah, I'll only buy it if he'll give me a good deal. So you're saying I'll get 15hp *on top* of what the tune will give me? I plan to have a tune by next week, so the intake would be added onto that.

On a separate note, I was a victim of a hit and run at my apartment complex last night. So I might be buying a GT500 rear end with dual exhaust even sooner than I planned. I came outside to my car today to find it like this:
