Shaker Hood air filter

I tried a search but couldn't find anything right off-hand. I just purchased a new Ford air filter for my '07 GT (about $18 at the dealership). When I pulled out the old air filter I noticed that it was rather heavy duty with screening, and just better built apparently for the shaker hood. Will the new Ford air filter be sufficient for this shaker hood system or do I need to find a similar shaker hood filter? Any insight would be appreciated. This is a 16,000 miles car and the shaker hood was installed by the dealer when new. I figured after 7 years it was time for a new filter despite the mileage.
