Angry Senseless act of vandalism

Well, I was the victim of the above mentioned act. Saturday night, at a local hockey game, I came out after the game to find the Mustang had been keyed. To say that I was mad would be an understatement. I can't understand why people do the things they do. The car was parked under a light and there were other cars there, but none in the parking spots around me.

The local police were of little help, they gave me a "mail-in offense report" to fill out and send to them. I realize that there is probably no way to find out who did this, or why. My next recourse is to take time out of my life to go get an estimate of the work needed, report it to the insurance company, etc. Then I will be without the car for whatever time it takes for repairs and likely to have a higher insurance premium because of this.

All because some lowlife can't stand the fact that some other human being has something nice...

Pics are below.

That just plain sucks and I hope there is something special in store for ever did that to your car. People don't seem to appreciate what others work so hard to have!

I'm feeling the rage build up just looking at your pics--I can't imagine how you feel. Are there any security cameras in the parking lot, or in neighboring areas that may have caught the act in progress? You could get lucky and find out who did it...

I had something similar happen a couple years ago to a VW GTI that I had. they keyed everything except the roof and bumpers. I have state farm and my rates didnt go up after the claim, I was just without a car for about 3 weeks. Luckily my roomate at the time worked in cali so I used his car during the week.

Oh yeah, and people who do this should have both arms cut off.

There are no cameras in the parking lot, unfortunately. I'm a season ticket holder and most of the other cars around mine I recognized as the same ones I see at the games. It is a fairly big lot, but I wasn't out in an unlit corner or anything like that. I don't know if there were any other cars keyed, or if I the only one.

Thanks to all for the encouraging words. They are appreciated.

Man that's just messed up. I know it's no recourse but anyone who has that much anger and jealousy that they would do something like this must be a pretty miserable person.

I hope at least your task of getting it fixed is a smooth one.

I totally feel for you. As Vincent Vega so eloquently stated in Pulp Fiction "You just dont fvck with another man's automobile." I believe there's a special place in hell for people who commit totally senseless vandalism, especially those who defile tombstones in cemeteries.

well that really really stinks. Why do people do this? I had it happen to the Firebird I owned once. Having the Mustang keyed would even **** me off more!

Years ago our neighbor hood suffered the crime of a criminal setting cars on fire.Other than being an arogant fire bug he burned over 20 cars in a 2 week period. The cars were totaled at great expence to their owners. The burn bug was caught in the act and beatin'.I've never seen someone get thrashed like that before but his pic in the paper was absolutly classic, two black eyes,a broken nose, jaw and his rightear nearly rippped off.

I was thinking the same thing at first. You didn't pi$$ off any women lately did ya? You're car looks like it could be one of a kind in any given area so I don't think it could be a case of mistaken (car) identity.

The flip side to that is some drunk a**hole (or not drunk) with nothing better to do. He see's a nice looking car like that, knowing that the person who owns it really, really cares about it.....you already know how the rest of it goes. As for their punishment, if I found out who it was, I would break both of their knees with an aluminum bat. That would give them a nice long and painful time to think about what they did. But thats just me.

I hope you get your car back good as new quickly. But more so, I hope you somehow find out who did this.
