I envy this thread. I wish I still had my 06 Vert. I had to give it up for reasons. I went back to getting my current 06 coupe. I did search for my vert when I was in the market to buy but found out someone picked it up from a dealer 5 months prior to that. I still search the vin number once in a while.

This forum was a lifesaver during the longest 3 months of my life, while the car was on order. I spent hours lurking, learning, and posting. It's just such a great community, and I can't say how much I appreciated it before the car was delivered and after.

Unfortunately, all things come to an end, and so it goes with my Mustang. I actually just posted it for sale on Craigslist. I still love the car to pieces, and since 1992, my main car has been a Mustang GT (this is my 3rd). But I'm not getting any younger, and felt like I was ready for a new experience, so I decided to jump ship into a BMW M235i 6-speed. I'm still having second thoughts as to whether I should have stayed with Ford and gone for the 2015 S550, but the BMW is on the way and I'm excited about it.

I'll always be a Mustang guy, and will continue to lurk here and on the Mustang6G forums. Just want to say thanks to everyone here for support over the years and wish you all the best!
best of luck on the BMW experience- but I do recall a few years back Arbo in here picked up a beemer, said goodbye to his mustang, and then last year returned with a GT/CS.
BMW makes great cars for sure, but there just seems something about the look and feel of a V8 mustang that tends to make folks miss them. there are a lot of excellent vehicles out there today, a great time to be shopping for auto enthusiasts for sure...

someday I may need to consider swapping a auto into mine, as some days the miles on the knees becomes apparent, but I'm hoping the nkees and the cars will outlast the rest of me- these cars are just a blast to drive... and its funny how many folks just love the looks of them...taking the kids to school last year, ws funny, stopped behind a lady in a new mercedes, her kid hops out "look a MUSTANG" and runs over to talk to my kid about it...mom just kinda looks at her car, shakes her head gets in and drives away. coulda been a Ford commercial

I fortunately have been able to score both. I laugh when I tell people my BMW is my daily driver and the Pony is the Garage Queen. It is a great day when I get a chance to drive both in the same day.

mine sat out all winter, drove around on the way home from work, found a mile route with dry roads- it rained here, washed away salt, but snow melt has salt laden puddles on many roads...anyway, got to take a spin for the first time since I think early december- aaaaahhhhh

washed/waxed it tonight, no worse for wear sitting under snow for months... really gotta get my garages cleaned out or get rid of some cars... my 2002 mercury I bought for a winter beater from florida was just too clean to drive in the salt, so drove its twin 2000 for one more winter- man is it ugly- poor thing runs like a top, but its scrapyard bound soon, body/frame rot... the 2002 sat out too, and dont think that florida car liked the cold much- had a few paint chips that got bigger over winter, but ok- took it around the blocks too, those big old boats were nice family barges...

moved the plow tractor into another bay, moved the new hood boxes up against the 69, had just enough room to squeeze the waxed 06 in so it will be ready for hopefully this weekend... supposed to be 50 again tomorrow, should clear all but the biggest slush piles away, then rain coning the next day- should have dry/saltfree roads very soon I'm ready, this winter really sucked. ground froze deeper than usual, my driveway heaved 3 freaking inches in front of the garage!

my neighbor built a retaining wall thats made a nice 50-60' 2 foot deep pond in our backyard, I'm hoping it froze enough to crack his wall...one in every neighborhood, the guys a lawyer, had a desk sized chickencoop, got CAUV exemption as a 5 acre poultry farm, epa/building code/zoning exempt, screwed up drainage all over by putting a 9' deep /3' high, 190 foot long wall to block natural flow of water, now we have a pond, all the county/epa/corp of engineers folks say, well yeah its illegal, but in that township noone has enforcement authority... so he built a three level 100'square building after regrading 3 acres of land with zero permits...and noone can enforce anything. typical government agencies...

anyways, soooo glad warmer weather is peeking around the corner, sure felt good even at 50 degrees to get out in the sun for a while

99,000 miles and still rollin'! Bought new in '06--was actually looking for one in Legend Lime (still like that color a lot), but saw the Wind Veil Blue; like it and liked the deal.

I really enjoy driving the car. With the glut of aftermarket parts for the S197 and the 4.6L, as long as the body is sound, I can re-build or replace anything that breaks. It will probably always have a spot in my garage.

Wow ! It's so hard to believe your 06 has 99k miles on her lol. As she still looks as new the day she rolled off the assembly line..

I can also see why you like Wind veil Blue just as much Legend lime, as they're both gorgeous and rare colors indeed

I haven't seen any other Sonic Blue GT's still around. 2005 was the only year they produced this color on the S197.

I still have mine. I only have about 3000 miles on mine. I did consider selling it at one time as my interest flexed over the years but I loved just going out to the garage and looking at it or starting it up and running around the block. I now started upgrading it again and wished that I had done those things years ago. I can't wait for this summer to hit.

initially I had intended t order sonic- but by the time the 3kids/4seats argument was settled with the wife, I missed the 05 window by 2 days

I have only seen one sonic in the past 2 years, and it was a v6- definitely not a common shade in this neck of the woods... theres probably a dozen LL and yellows in the area too- those I think were rather low production too. some thought sonic looked a little purple in the sun, but i thought it was cool.

vista is a shade dark for my 'ideal' and dont have that 'pop' in the sun like sonic or redfire... but i still like it obviously... my favorite shade ever was the old Acapulco Blue, wish they would bring that one back- but sonic was pretty unique too

Ordered my 2005 and took delivery with 6 miles on the odometer. She's still sitting in my driveway with 82k and change on her. I've just gotta get the gauges out and sent off and fixed.

Got the 2009 off the dealer lot with 24 miles on her and she too is still in the driveway with 62k and change on her.

And I just got the 2015 in December with 49 miles on her. Was going to order but they found the exact car I was looking to order with the exception of the spare tire. But I can always pick one of those up pretty cheap.

I love my cars and I have absolutely no intentions of giving up any of them.
