How many bought their's new and still own it?
Rolled 77,000 miles last Sunday. I'm averaging a little under 11,000 miles a year which is under the national average.
Depending on how things go, I may be looking at selling/trading it in the next year or two though...

I bought our 07 GT convertible brand new as a leftover on New Year's Eve 2007 for my wife to replace her Boxster. She drove it for several years and abandoned it, but I've kept it as a fun car. It doesn't get driven daily, but I've still put almost 10K miles on it in the last year. Most of that was two road trips. In the spring I took it on a 3000 mile trip to Daytona Beach, and this summer me and my 11yo daughter took a 4000 mile trip to CO, WY, NE, KS and OK. That was a great trip. Just turned 59K this weekend, and our 6 year anniversary is at the end of the month. My oldest daughter gets her license next April, and it will probably become her car.
Ordered mine the weekend after the '06 MY order banks opened, waited very impatiently for several months, it was assembled on 9/15/05 and I took it home on 9/28/05.

It was a DD for the first couple of years, now retired. Just turned over 28,000 miles.

The plan to keep it forever was just sealed by the 2015 reveal. Sorry, folks, but yuck! Mustangs will never look like this again.

I feel the same way. Grew up in the late 60's and I guess the retro style is just embedded in my brain. That is why I really like the 05-09 look and why I am keeping my car for a long time. 15 looks to be a fantastic car, but as you said it is just not for me.
Got my black '05 GT vert in April of 2005 and it still runs strong. Have under 60k on it. Will probably keep for at least a couple more years until the new generation has been out for awhile, then go for some test drives.
Ordered mine in Jan 2005, waited all summer long pestering the dealership when it was being built, if it was being built and what was going on...told me about the shortage of spoilers, my color dash and too many orders for '05's.. Wanted to sell my an '06 but I said I'll wait it out because I wanted the Sonic Blue and wasn't offered in '06. Finally got a call in Aug from the salesperson telling me it was in and come pick her up!! Still have the car today, daily driven with 124K and loving it! Got the spoiler but not the my color since they supposedly ran out of them..oh well not a big deal, how often do you change colors anyway..
Mine turned 9 years old in March this year. 76,000 trouble-free miles. Never been back to the dealer. The only issue I had was the oil pressure gauge went bad because of the defective stepper motors. I sent the gauge cluster to Circuit Board Medics, and they replaced all 6 stepper motors for $150. That was the only non-maintenance cost since owning this car. Best car I've ever owned for sure.
It was a daily driver until last summer when I bought my daughter's 2003 Mini Cooper. Now the Mini is my daily driver and the Screaming Yellow car only comes out in the nice weather.
Also been to 6 track day events on road courses with this car. Lime Rock twice, Watkins Glen twice, NJ Motorsports Park and Loudon New Hampshire. The car is bone stock other than a shifter and Hawk brake pads, and it was amazing on all the tracks except for one thing - the brake pedal went to the floor at well over 100 mph the first time at Watkins Glen! Since then I switched to ATE Super Blue DOT 4 and that took care of the problem.
Fantastic car, still looks amazing inside and out, and it feels as solid and tight as it ever did. I am thinking about trading it for a 2015 GT, but I'll definitely have mixed feelings about letting it go...

Still have my 05 GT vert, that I purchased in Savannah, GA in April '05. She's only got a little over 54k miles at this point, since my work van absorbs most of my driving miles. Sally was a daily driver for about a year after purchase, and we used her for a road trip up the east coast in that same time frame, so a good chunk of those miles were put on early. Now I just drive her on the weekends and sometime in the evenings, and am slowly adding miles at this point. She's been a great ride. After the new version of the Mustang has been out for a few years, she might finally be getting replaced by a new model...but maybe not. I'm still in love with this car's style.
