once you get the hood struts,you'll be asking yourself why you didn't do it sooner. for less than 100 ,you can't go wrong.

Ive often wondered why noone has made the simple slide/latches like the early corvettes used...a buddy of mine had a 66 or 67, you just lifted the hood fully it locks, release and lift again it unlocks, simple, no pressure on the hood to bow it and the sliders took up very little room from what I remember...

I still kinda like the old redline struts that push 'back' when closed, although they would be a bit more in the way, seems to me it would have less tendency to bow the hood or add to shake at high speeds(although neither our 06 or 07 have had shake yet...)
