Hood Lift kits

Since they all been around for a while now, which ones are the best quality, easy to install and lift the hood the best and look good under the hood. Redline, MRT, Classic Design concept , or any other brands that Mustang owners have been using. What are the best prices you have found , getting ready to add hood lift kit. Thanks Steve

hood lift kit

Thanks Ron I just seen the Classic Design Concept kit on a stang at a local car show very nice right there with MRT, since I posted this topic I found this Kit by Califponycar kind of like what I seen here. Here is a link check it out see what you think, will not fit a GT500 hood though just for our Gt hoods. Thanks Steve

You right they look great
Looks like you could paint them the same color as the car or polish them
Think maybe look better than the classic desing

I really like to clean simple look of the stainless steel struts from Redline Tuning. I've had them on my last two Mustangs. Here's what they look like on my '07 GT...

I didn't get the install completed due to limited time and the lack of a #11 drill bit.

The bottoms are done, struts attached, and some smaller starter holes are drilled into the hood. All thats left is to bring the holes in the hood up to size, rivit them in and attach the strut. As soon as I can find the right drill bit i'll be able to finish. Overall it is an easy install, just a lot of double checking the measurments and carefull drilling!

Got my NXT hood strut kit today and installed in a little less then a hour, looks great, works great very good quality everything fit good. Only changes I made I went out and bought chrome finished bolts to attach all of the parts.Looks a lot better then using the painted bolts that were on from factory, since the kit parts are done in a silver finish.

I've had Redline before. And that was before I knew about MRT's no drill, good looking, quality lift kit. Now I see no reason to drill exrta holes in any of my cars. I prefer MRT's because they lift the hood higher and are out of your way when doing work. Also, I like the look, but that is in the eye of the beholder.

Do either of you know if this is any safer on fiberglass hoods than previous versions? I really like the looks of these, but I'm switching the stock GT/CS hood for a Ram Air California Dream that I have. Would be nice to install these...

These are made for the OEM aluminum hoods.. If the glass hood is the same weight you should be ok. If not the hood may be damaged trying to close it OR they won't hold the hood up.. I used to design this gas springs for thr automotive OEM and aftermarket my first engineering job out of college years ago.. The pressures are very important to hood weights..

Moved to the main 2005+ forum as these do not pertain to just the GT/CS model.
