For a year I drove a '00 Grand Prix SE with the 3.1L V6. I had to maintain a completely clean record and no accidents before I was allowed a new car. No sweat. I was originally getting a V6 Stang, had everything picked out. On my 17th birthday I came home to a GT in the driveway. I was blown away. My parents paid for it yes. People can think it's wrong or what not, but I could care less what they think about that. If they're going to judge me on that fact alone, I have all the pity in the world for them. Many people judge me based on what I drive and how I recieved it. I don't care. The fact of the matter is I'm a good steward of my Mustang. Washed every week if not every other , and I wax it every month. I was hit twice, completely not my fault. Nothing major, just scratches on the rear bumper. My car within almost a year is barely getting to 9k miles. I don't drive it to far, but it's daily driven. If I totalled any car I owned, and it was my fault my parents would cut me off. I've never caused an accident in my life or been in one, I do my best everyday to keep it that way.

i had the jerk neck across the street call the cops on me while i was washing my car. saying the radio was to loud...........the cop then turned around and asked me if that`s how loud the radio has been the whole time i said yes and his reply was the radio is not loud at all.........enjoy your day sir.......so i sat there all day detailingh the car with the radio on....it must have irked them so much........

Eleanor is the neighborhood mustang....
People say " OOH I see "my" mustang. when I am out and about.
Neighbors come over to admire her when I take her out of the garage.....
Plus I leave the burning out to the 06 gt vert up the street. What with the construction around here, I could not race in this neighborhood if I wanted to.
And like I said- I was here before all my neighbors, so tough kitties if they don't like my yellow car.

That's funny. I hate it when people call the cops instead of just being normal about it and saying, hey, would you mind turning your radio down.
My roommate has asked me to turn down my TV at night when I can barely hear it. Usually I go ahead and do it because he asked nicely, but if he is jerky about it I'll just say too bad.

Glad to hear it, there is nothing wrong with getting stuff from your folks as long as you don't start EXPECTING or acting superior because of the things you have verses what others have. Remember, it's never really yours until you earn it or pay for it yourself. You sound like a good guy, enjoy it while you can. I went to a wealthy High School (I wasn’t) with a bunch of yuppies who got brand new (insert high priced European car here) on their 16th birthday and usually trashed or crashed them by the end of the year! They all acted superior, like the brats on the OC, because their parents all had $$. To this day I still resent those ‘lil bas%#@*’s! Moral of the story, don’t be a ‘lil bas%#@*!
Real life comes at you fast and hard and it’s unforgiving. Just look at our guy’s over in Iraq!
