Guy down the street

I have a cop that lives about 4-5 houses down, so if they have a problem they can just go down there and talk to him about it.
I don't think I will have any problems though, most of the people around here drive too fast anyway.

Dude this happens to me every day. What you are saying is Deja Vu to me.
The lady at the condo association harasses me in the same exact fashion. Things like "a lot of people have been complaining" and "you're driving like a race car up and down the street" etc etc etc. It's a nightmare. The posted limit is 15 and I don't go a lick over 14 since I'm so paranoid about it.
The last time it happened I told the lady where to go. I said next time I want specific dates and times along with the people's names and phone numbers or don't even talk to me. I know for a fact I didn't do anything because I'm so conscious about it now. She is just making stuff up.
It bascially boils down to old people love to complain. It looks fast standing still. When it's moving at 10 it looks like it's moving at 30. It's not your fault, fire back at them. Ask them what their police credentials are that they're been trained to visually estimate vehicle speed. Tell them to buy a radar gun. Tell them to take said radar gun and shove it up their !@#$. If you let them continue it will get worse unless you put a stop to it now.
Thanks a lot for posting this. I'm trying to get some homework done and you've got me all enraged again. I'm too angry to do any work now.

get in your car and light up a patch to 15 MPH's...that'll calm you down....

It's unfortunate you have a neighbor like this. You handled it perfectly though.
Makes me happy my closest neighbor is a 1/4 mile away....I can light them up as I leave my driveway every time if I want to.

I live in Mustang alley- the concentration of mustangs in this neighborhood is above average.
So no one says anything anyway- besides I was here first, so they can stick it if they don't like it.

so far I haven't gotten any complaints from the neighbours, although i'm always very courteous and drive safely and slowly down the street. Once I install the bassani's, I wonder how they will react, especially considering I usually come home around 3am on saturday night and have to give a bit of gas to get up my steep driveway.

I have to share a story...I live in a condo development and I was going down my street, its 15 and yeah I was doing about 20, but it seems like your going faster then that since the roads are kinda tight. Anyways....I pull into my parking spot and this woman in a Caddy stops and rolls her window down and says hey you need to slow it down. I pretty much brush her off...then she takes off like a bat out of heck her self, so basically couldnt stop myself and turn around and yell back...slow down you stupid female dog! I hate when people point out your problems yet they break the same thing as you do..

Yah my neighbors are pretty cool...most keep to themselves. But there is this one neighbor who I wouldn't mind running over.
I was out washing my car and she comes over "ooh glad I caught ya, i'm the vice president of the counsel and I don't see a county sticker on your car..."
Yah....
"Well that's against the rules...if it's not on there in 30 days we will have to tow the car"
No problem thank you mam. (really thinking tow it and i'll blow your house up)

LMAO man that's hilarious!!! We have a few busy bodies in our neighborhood as well. They obviously have perfect lives since they complain when people don't edge the driveway One couple in particular is really bad. My front yard is a complete wreck right now (weeds) but we're working with a company to get it straightened out. If just one of those busy body morons says anything - I'll use weed killer and put a not-so-nice symbol (think "upper case L's kind of linked together in 90 degree turns ) in their yard

Yea i had my neighbors do that to me twice! They've come to my house banging on the door telling me how aggresively drivning I am and how I almost hit there son. Well I would of not almost hit your son if he was paying attention driving in the middle of the street on a motorized scooter not paying to cars coming up and down the street, and its a pretty busy street. So I've had the neighbor threaten to call the cops on me. I've had them scream saying that i was speeding, but I get out and ask them "do you have a radar attached to your head, if not, then shut ******** ( i think you know the rest ) I've had occasion where the neighbor has jumped in front of my car at a stop sign to call the cops on me, i mean these people are nuts!! They reported that I supposibly speed through the neighborhood, since its a 25 MPH zone and there are lil kids around. Well that doesnt count at 10PM at night!! LOL, so they've called the police constantly on me, and Ive had my dad in the car on occassion where he was witnessed me doing 25 and having the police stop at our house because they called them on us. They even had a few occasions where the police would run radar in my housing development with one of those speed limit display trailers on the side of the road, and i caught a few unmarked units at times sitting in my development running radar. Seriously, I hate my neighbors, but luckily we are moving out of this housing development because its getting crowded and we are moving to a much more quiet location.
Just feel like taking a painball gun to them the day we move or something, as payback, ever get that feeling??

This happened to me at school the other day. My friend just got his 2006 GT and we took off the mufflers we drove to school to pick up a friend's ride. Mind you we get out early because we're seniors so it was around the time people are getting picked up. I go to make a right and there's a pedestrian in the cross walk, I wait for a good while and when it's clear I ease out and accelerate to around 43 in a 45 zone. I was not accelerating excessively nor was my friend who was right behind me.
A staff member reported me to the principal for peeling out and driving in excess of 60 mph and braking really hard to stop at the next light. This was complete and utter b.s. The Loudmouths didn't help. When I got called into the office I almost laughed in the principals face and explained that my car is loud as was my buddy's at the time. I also asked if they had a radar gun and that there was no possible way someone watching from a standing position not moving at all could judge my speed. Especially because both lanes were completely clear. I also explained how my parents are going to laugh this off as I did, my mom even works at the school so she gotta pretty big kick out of this. I stated how this is what comes with having a car like this and I'm prepared for inaccurate claims and people's opinions about me. I could care less. I just wish the staff member would have the stones to come talk to me in person so I can explain how wrong they were. This is probably the 3rd or 4th bs claim I've gotten from anyone.

Jonathan, please don’t take this the wrong way, but how in the He** can you afford a 30K+ new vehicle, not to mention insurance?
When I was a senior in High School all I could afford was a 15 year old 1971 Torino GT (do the math and you’ll know when I graduated). That was while working two jobs just to pay for gas! Don’t get me wrong, good for you however you got it. Enjoy it while you can, it’s taken me 37 years to afford or “acquire†a new Mustang, just don’t trash it. Once you get married and start having kids it’s all OVER!!
I think this deserves it’s own thread, How old were you when got your first NEW car and what was it?

His parents probably pay for everything, but everyones parents do for young new drivers, but I'm not hear to bash on him about that if thats the case. But yea, everyone I knew in highscool got really expensive cars from mommy and daddy if they had the money. I had a 17 yr old girl get a brand new Mercedez Benz from her dad as a gift for getting her license, totalled it 2 weeks later, this was 5 years ago when i was in high school. I think it was a $50,000 car and her response when she came back from this accident (which was her fault by the way) was "that's ok, my dads' buying me a new one and he's getting me a BMW this time." Sure enough, she ended up with a BMW 3 series.
But the only way your going to learn things in life is to pay for things yourself thats all I'm going to say about that scenario.
my first car was a 1991 Maza 4-Door Protege with 130,000 miles on it, cherry red, cost me $4000. I miss that car.

I don't have an 05 (you can kick me out after my post), but I have a similiar story from about 4-5 years ago when we still lived in the Dallas area. One night I pull into the alley to go in the garage after work.
The neighbor from 2 houses down knocks on my door like 15 seconds after I'm inside and asks me to slow down in the alley because his kids "play" back there. I ask him how fast he thinks I was going, and he says "at least 30" ... I think ask if he got that number on Radar, because my Speedometer said 10.
He goes, "Well, it seemed faster" ... and I then politely explained to him no, it just SOUNDED faster. I then told him, regardless, its not safe for your kids to play back there, and I would never let mine. He didn't mess with me again.
Boomer was right, people associate LOUD with fast, regardless of actual speed.

I do have one really crazy **** neighbor, if I don't mow my trim weeds in my front lawn he will come over and do it for me.
Same thing with snow, sometimes he snowblows my sidewalk while he is doing his, it's kinda funny actually.
He really likes my Stang tho, so I don't think he would say jack. I have revved it up in the driveway plenty of times.
Even louder than that tho is when I rev up my V-max and my friends come over on their Harleys with straight pipes and we all take off!

I used to politely ask people to slow down in my neighborhood, but not any more. A few years ago my wife and I were walking to a neighbor's house about 12 or so houses down from us. Their house sits on a curve, and we were probably a good 75 yeards from the curve when I see a Dakota come barrelling around the corner, doing at least 30. Now, this is a neighbrhood with lots of kids, it was after 7pm in December so it was dark outside. There were also cars parked on both sides of the street where the curve was, so the guy had only one lane. I see him doing that crap and I jump into the middle of the road, then back again, with him NOWHERE near me. When he drove past, I said "Might want to slow it down a bit there". I noticed he had a New York tag (which means nothing other than it appeard that he wasn't even a resident in my neighborhood). He locks 'em up, slams it in reverse and in a really condescending tone of voice, "You need to shut the f3(k up", then drives off again blasting through a stop sign at the end of the street. Long story short, he was the brother-in-law of someone who lives 2 houses down from me. So we pay them a visit and explain what happened. 30min later a knock on the door from my neighbor, all apologetic and making excuses for the guy. Then the POS himself comes up my driveway and yells, "You ever jump in front of me again, I'll kill you". OK - GTFO my property you scummy POS. He backed down but later I found out that he had just moved into my neighborhood. So, I don't ask people to slow down any more after that.
