Di di di da di di diiiii. Di di di da di di diii.

This just in. Hasbro, Inc, the toy manufacturer that was founded by Henry and Helal Hassenfeld in 1923 has now launched a law suit against the Ford Motor Company regarding the IUP. Hazbro launched the LiteBrite in 1967 which was copywrighted, trademarked and pretty much grossly over documented for the past 37 years. Executives at Hasbro, Inc. state that the MyColor dash display is a complete rip off of their 1967 idea. Film at eleven.

In a related story, Proctor & Gamble has filed a law suit as well, stating that they have been "brushing aluminum" with 'Comet' for over 50 years.

Hey Jim ~ If the lawsuit is part of the hold then why can I still go to Fordvehicles.com click on build you vehicle & STILL build a 2005 Mustang with IUP that INCLUDES My Color?

It is NOT a lawsuit problem. It IS a supply and demand problem. The demand far surpasses the supply. They are working on this. Since the new hold I have always thought that maybe they are lettin Delphi catch up. Maybe even build a little surplus of the product so that in the future this will no longer be a problem. JMO.

Anyway. Angain JMO. Nothing official. But I still believe that it is a supply issue as stated numerous times on this site & not a lawsuite issue.
Cheers

According to my dealer the issue is with the robots. The one that stamps one of the inserts failed and now they are having to retool it. End of story. Makes sense if you think about it. That's the one thing the GT and V6 with IUP has in common is the inserts. The GT's speedo goes to 140 mph and the V6 to 120 mph. Hence the reason for the V6 delays earlier. we know they have the steering wheels and shifters it's the IUP Lite, so that's all that's left. Now they're scheduling IUP orders so it looks like this is about to end.
and according to my dealer spacemen came down to ford and stole all the iup and they wont give it back untill they are given plutonium is vast quantity...

Your dealer probebly knows about as much as my mom about what is going on with the mustang, trus people on this site when you read the truth that it is a supply issue. Ford antisipated a 20% order on IUP and ended up with 80%, do the math they ran out!, And as far as the lawsuit ..... when and if the time comes Ford may have to call it quits on the IUP, but till then they are still aloud to sell them

No, no, you got that wrong.
I heard that it was dilithium crystals they were after.
See, they need it to generate 1.21 gigawatts of electricity.

So after reading Brad's posts, I'm led to believe the lawsuit is not a rumor, & is a part of this current hold.
That's what I think also. Until somebody's car is 'Built' with the IUP during this month of January......and not just scheduled for build, then it would be safe to assume it was something other than the lawsuit issue. [/b][/quote]
I don't believe they ever stopped building cars with IUP, they just stopped taking orders for them. People with IUP that had already been scheduled before the hold was put on are having there cars built now. It's good to see NEW people getting scheduled with IUP if that's what's happening. B)

Could this thread be summarized and distilled down to the facts with a new posting and lock this on for reference? Just a thought, or maybe it should be in the rumor section?

You're both wrong.
Elvis needed them for the new I'm Not Dead tour this summer

My dealer has insisted all december that my car would be built the week of jan 17. Today I recievd an email. This is what he said:
"No mustangs during January will be produced with interior upgrade
This is due to a lawsuit pending against ford, for the multicolor speedo
We can either take your car without interior upgrade, locate a stock unit
and cancel the order, or push the order to a February build"

I am not upset because I plan to use it as a summer car only, and we currently have 2'' of snow outside.

Personally, I am 100% sure it is a supply issue, just don't understand why all these rumours circulate among dealers. Robots, lawsuits...

I think i must have been locked in a cave for the past 2 weeks
... Correct me if i am wrong but all of you are basicly saying that even though the automated number says i have a build date of 1/7 and customber service/and my dealer give me an ETA of the week of January 23rd that i should still not to expect to have it built before february?!

Please excuse my cluelessness to this...i stoped reading this thread around page 20.
I said it to avoid making everyone else say it!

I'd be skeptical if the dealer told me, but Ford customer service is the one that told me my car would be built the week of Jan. 17th.

Estimated arrival is Jan. 30th. We'll see if it has the IUP.

If your car was scheduled to be built before they put the hold on IUP's, it'll still be built this month. Good luck!

Here's an idea.....

Build the cars without any Speedo/MyColor, etc. Just a big gapping hole there. Get us our cars now and have the dealers install them later after the supply or lawsuit or whatever is over.

Why?

Because we all know the first 3 months we have our new car it will be "Pegged" and we'll have no idea how fast we are going anyway.

If Mr. Fusion goes into an anti-matter chamber does that mean he just doesn't matter anymore?
