Hello Everyone. I've been looking through this forum for about a month now. Hands down the best resource for info on the '05 Mustang. Great site Brad . With the exception of two people everyone tends to be very helpful.

That said, on to business. Grantsdale, the price you listed for vinyl stripes seems very high. I have a close friend who owns a sign shop that does vinyl work on cars. $300 sounds about right for custom vinyl stripes, and I find it very difficult to believe the cost of vinyl stripes would be over $500. Atleast at this guy's shops. Perhaps shops around here operate cheaper, that I do not know. Hope that was helpful 68stanggirl.

 

Thanks for everybodys help with this. I'll go to it right now & see what I can come up with. Decisions, Decisions. Don't want to order something I'm not happy with. Would love black but have had to much trouble with the paint job on my 2000.

$300 to $1000 .... I'm sure if you want a strange color and want it done "right now" you can get towards the $1000+ price range ...

I tried to post a message earlier today and for some reason it never made it on the site.

I was wondering if anyone here can give me any advice about placing an order for a new 05 Mustang GT.
I called a couple of dealers last week and both of them told me the same thing...they don't have any information on the new car yet. but that they should have some information in a time frame from this week to sometime in June or July.

They also told me that I would not be able to place an order until they have information on the car...and that they put my name on a list of people interested in the car.

I would like to buy a new 05 GT in Sonic Blue (that's the color on my 03).
I had a hard time finding the Sonic Blue when I was shopping for my current car, and when I talk to the dealers they all say the same thing...that Sonic Blue is not a popular color so they don't get many cars in that color.

Does anyone have any advice on ordering the car NOW and if I can get the order in what's my chances of getting the car I want, and how soon should I espect delivery?

They wont be available until September 29, or around that. So expect to get the one YOU want in October or November. They aren't going to have too many Sonic Blues at first. They'll get all the popular colors out of the way first, like red, silver, and black. The majority of people will probably buy red, b/c it's kinda like a standard.

But go to your dealer, tell them what you want, and they can have it shipped over if another place has it, it usually takes up to a week if the other dealership has it. It depends on how far it is. You could always just drive to the other one and get it.

 

I ordered a 05 GT Premium in Sonic Blue w/interior upgrade,5spd man.,wheel upgrade a week ago and received my DORA this past Saturday. Just hope its accepted on week 24, Can't wait to find out that its offical, 4 more weeks to go The saleswoman was more excited than I was. It was the dealership 1st order for a 05.

Go to a Dealer and put your order in and you will receive a dora. I put $500 down and on week 24 or after you will find out if your order will be accepted.I was told that there's a limit on how many Stangs orders they will accept from the dealers.At my dealer they told me they could only order 2, I was lucky to be the 1st put a order in.

 

I appreciate all the information you guys gave me in regard to the 05.
I called three dealerships so far and I'm waiting to heard from the third one I called.
Of the other two dealerships one of them had over 400 Mustangs in stock so I thought they would be able to let me order the 05, but as I told you before they said they didn't have any information on the car so they can't order them yet.
I guess I'll call them back again and see what they tell me when I tell them that I know people that HAVE placed an order on the car.

 

I will order an 05 for you tomorrow any way you want and you will be my first order. I am an SVT dealer and sell a fair amount of Mustangs.

WOW!! Is the new GT actually going to be faster than my '96 Cobra? I hate to part with her, she's a beautiful car. But if the new cars are this hot it's time to say goodbye.
