Yes it is the 2005! They have the same deal for both 2004 and 2005.
If you go to the option that says build the car it will let you choose a 2005 mustang.
The dealer called me within 5 minutes of putting in the information since AAA forwards the info to the designated dealer in your area. The dealer told me that they are trying to get as many pre-orders as possible. He said the deal would likely be over as soon as they started hitting the showrooms, in otherwords I had better take advantage of the offer now because it may not be available later.

I have also been told United Buying Service and also COSTCO are other possible ways to get a good price. I have not checked their services yet.

I am thinking about putting in my order today with the AAA deal. Though, I still would have liked to have seen one of the cars in person before having ordered one.

I keep hearing about this 500 over invoice, and I'm thinking, is this for real? Here in Northern California, I could only get one dealer to take an order, and he is asking almost 23K for a plain V-6. Needless to say, I walked on that one.

Any Northern Cal (East Bay and east to Sac) mustang buyers who have gotten good deals on orders? Let me know

Also:
For those of you in Alabama; $100 says we'll beat your best deal reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeguardless: I got email from the man himself:

Thank you, the 2005 Mustang will be in the showroon very soon. We have one that should be by the end of Oct. Please come by and we will give the info we have. JIMMY SKINNER

IF the 21k is right priced for what I want, I am going to play this one and get it cheaper.

Well Kids,

I finally got a dealer to play ball. I went into Packey Webb Ford today and placed my order for a GT on the Z-Plan (Yeah, the Z-plan...the plan Elmhurst Ford said wasn't 'authorized by FoMoCo' )

Plus, I was the first to order (still?) The only downside is that Webb is not expecting their Mustangs to come in until December (argh!)

If you are on a letter plan, this is the place to go. Give me a PM and I'll put in a good word for ya...

Built a 05 Mineral Grey GT Premium with all options except automatic and red interior last night, and sent info to four dealers using edmunds.com and cars.com .

MSRP: $28,945
Invoice: $26,443

Got a phone call this morning from Crown Ford in Nashville.
They quoted me $27,205. That is $762 over invoice.

They want a $500 deposit and the order goes in. I am heading down there next weekend.

This will be the second internet sale with this dealership. I bought a loaded Explorer in 1999 through Autobytel.com with them for $150 over invoice.

Dealer info:

Jack Russell
646 Thompson Lane
Nashville, TN 37204

1(615)405-0961

He is a nice guy and told me 'that he would give me a good deal' and that 'he was not trying to get rich on one car'.

This may be $262 over what others are paying, but I think it is worth it for the complete lack of hassle, and the voluntary deal offered by the dealer without haggling.

(Besides...they knocked $1740 off sticker )

We could really use some 05 pricing threads by state, because it really pis...er ahh ticks me off that AAA in California doesn't even offer the 05 at 300 under invoice. I'm happy for you stang fans on the east coast, but it would be nice to have a "California lowest price thread", or a "Texas", or "Seattle" etc.

Agreed, great idea! And for those of us in California, divide the thread up by north and south, since I'm 5-6 hours from L.A., and don't particularly want to drive that far to take delivery (but would to save 500 or more, I guess).

I went to the AAA website on Saturday and got a price of $0 over invoice at a dealership in Eatontown NJ (I live on Long Island). Nobody has called me yet though. I will call them tonight.

BTW, what does DORA stand for? And what does priority 99 mean?
