Everyone keeps on referring to the x plan, not to sound ignorant but what is this, and how do you get this.

after being flat out lied to i dont even think i am going to buy a mustang at all.

This is the second time Ford has tried to pull these tricks on me with "hot item" vehicles. A few years ago I tried to buy an Escape (seemed simple enough)... they quoted sticker price only and an over inflated interest rate. So I went to Jeep and bought a Liberty... got more and paid less. When will the dealers learn? Look what they did to the T-bird.
Oh well. I'll keep trying. But as much as I absolutely love the Mustang, I may go test drive a GTO this weekend.

Texas Motors, Fort worth texas... I talked to a salesman there about 2 weeks ago. I told him I knew the exact car (05 GT premium) I was wanting and was interested in special ordering it. He says "no problem all our cars are $500 over invoice" I went in the next day to actually place the order.. he wasnt there so I waited another day. The guy did a complete 180 on what he told me... 500 over invoice turned into "you'd be lucky to get one at msrp"
what a joke.
I did get quotes of $500 over invoice from two other nearby dealers prior to talking with texas motors. I only went in and talked to them since their location was more convenient. after being flat out lied to i dont even think i am going to buy a mustang at all.

Saw this ad last night in my local paper. It's the first print ad I've seen. Not that I'm going for a V6 but it looks a bit over priced, what do you think? The ad is from Best Ford in Floral Park, NY.
I just picked up and paid for an 05 GT today in So Cal. All the dealers are marking them up around here so I didn't want to post until my experience was final. For a small membership fee, you can be a member of AAA (Auto Club of Southern California). I asked for a dealer over the internet, which they supplied me with and I ordered the car the way I wanted it for $499 over factory invoice. No tricks, no BS.
I am very happy with new new pony and how I bought it!
GT Premium, yellow, shaker 1000, Side airbags, anti-theft, upgraded wheels, wheel locking kits...
$200 over invoice, plus their body shop is painting dual black top stripes on it for $350.
The other 2 competing were $400 over invoice and $300 for vinyl stripes.
yay for small town dealers who are desperate to sell cars.

I was out taking car of business today. I had a little bit of spare time so when I was passing through Meriden, CT I stopped in Colony Ford. They have 2 GT's, both premiums,
Redfire, Manual, tan interior, optional wheels, anti-theft, wheel locks & IUP.
Sonic Blue, Auto, Charcoal interior, optional wheels, anti-theft, wheel locks & IUP.
The are asking MSRP for both. The salesman said they already sold 2 '05s a GT and V6 for MSRP. The next 2 that are coming in are sold, so it will be late Dec or Jan before they have any others for sale.
Both are in the showroom, no test drives unless you are ready to buy. I asked about X-plan, the salesman did not seem to know what X plan is and said no discounts.
Good to see that Colony is not asking for any markup over sticker. My feeling is that if you go there and are ready to buy today, they will knock something off to close the deal.
I counted 9 - 2004's on their lot along with some used Stangs. I bet they are real anxious to get rid of their '04s.

I would like to say thanks to this site. It has really kept me informed and I feel like I know more about the car than the dealers.
Ok Pundmann Ford in St. Charles MO is trying to sell 05's for $1000 over MSRP because it is a "hard to get" car. They also want to charge this if you want to order the car. We of course told them uh...no..and walked out. Just a warning for those in St. Louis. And if any one knows a good place here let me know..
Thanks.

With other dealers offering Matthews Paoli Ford $500 over MSRP to buy my car before I took delivery, I am glad I decided to do business with them! I am totally satisfied with my experience. Even with the long wait, Rich Lockyer kept me posted on every step. He took the time to go over any question I had, and if he didn't know the answer, he would do the research to find out. I could see my excitement rub-off on their entire staff. I thought only Saturn dealers were this friendly. Even though I didn't drive it out of the showroom like I did for my Saturn Ion, driving my GT from their hidden
upstairs garage was my more than enough fun for me
I tell ya, If you have not ordered your car yet and you're in the PA, NJ, DE area, give Rich a call @ 610-476-5165. -You'll be glad you did!

Forget that 1000 over msrp...i just ordered an 05 GT Premium at 1120 this morning with IUP, ICAP, 5-Spd Auto, Shaker 1000, Active Anti-theft, and Seat side airbags for 100 under dealer invoice with X-Plan.

I know that there are a lot of dealers out there charging over MSRP and getting it. I work at Ford dealer in western Nebraska and we have 2 Mustangs on the lot one a v-6 the other a GT both are for sale at MSRP nothing over and nothing under. I realize that there are a lot of lousy salespeople out there trying to make extra bucks and offering no customer service whatsoever but dont let a few lousy salespeople give the rest of us a bad name please.
P.S. V-6 deluxe is white GT premium is sonic blue, just thought I'de let you know

I went to a local dealer, power ford in torrance, and they are selling 05's at $5000 over MSRP. Plus if you want to place an order they require $3k-$5k non-refundable deposit.
Plus, the reason I went in there, they wouldn't budge on $32,000 for a 04 Cobra.

Ordered my 05 GT Nov. 3. All options except Shaker 1000. $3000 under MSRP,
$1000 under invoice on A plan. Other dealers wanted 3-5 K over MSRP and looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about A/Z plan. Said I should get it late Feb. early March. Pays to shop around. I told the dealer I would be buying all my cars there from now on. Oh yeah, my first Mustang since new 70 Mach 1 351C. No, I am not having a mid-life crisis, am keeping Expedition for bad weather days.

I went to a dealer in Whittier, CA they wanted $15,000 over MSRP. What a joke! The only thing good about the experience they let me test drive and let me really open it up through back streets behind the dealership.

I bought my first one at Valley Ford salesman Tracy and paid sticker price. I went back to him yesterday for another one and he said it was sticker to me because I had purchased the first one but everyone else was going to pay over sticker.
I located a dealer in NY state that someone here posted and put my order in for under invoice. Like everyone else I thought it was another line of B/S so I called and it was indeed fact. I will wait for spoiler and up grade package with the red seats. I will fly up there and pick it up sometime in March or April. the number there is 585-924-9525 Salesmans name is Paul Bowers. Good luck and tell him where you saw this. My name is Bill
