I would like to have a thread that only has pricing for the 05' when it becomes available, and what Dealership it was from, including options. Reason is, I am willing to travel to get a better price. I have read all the A,X plan threads, and I hope this makes it more understandable, simple. Thanks in advance for the pricing, etc. JON

Thanks for the reminder. When the '05's start hitting lots, there will be a section for info like that. We'll post invoices and whatever info we can get our hands on.

I second that. Anybody who pays over sticker should be banned from the mustang world. We cannot let the dealers do that to us.

Quick question. When people say not over sticker, is that with everything included. Tax, paperwork, etc.

no. The price before all the extras.

A lot of dealers will try to get $1000-$5000 over sticker price because of high demand for the car. Don't pay it. The GT Mustang is not a rare car. a GT(40) or something like that maybe. If you don't pay it on something like that, you may not get one. But, you will get a Mustang GT. There will be plenty.

invoice is the price that Ford charges the dealer for the car. It is not what the dealer ends up paying, however. There is money paid to the dealer after the car is sold called holdbacks. One of our dealer friends may be able to explain it better than I.

You've pretty much covered it.

:nono: Chill girls and boys ... this may be more internet BS.
B) Noticed CarsDirect.com research will now allow comparison of the 2005 Mustangs AND provide pricing.
I compared a 2005 V-6, GT Deluxe and GT Premium. Got a picture and basic comparison data (some right, some incomplete, no options) and it came up with an V-6 MSRP of $18,035 w/Invoice of $16,601. GT Deluxe MSRP of $23,650 w/Invoice of $21,574. GT Premium MSRP of $24,730 w/Invoice of $22,627. They show a MSRP price range between $18,035 - $29,135
They make a disclaimer statement the cars are not yet available. Don't know about validity of pricing. But what the hey ... something more to fret over.

The pricing at that site is not official and is probably just the 04 figures.

The site is guessing and just inflating the prices by a certain percentage. Pricing has not been released.

If you loose a weekend to place an order, and another to get the car, and possibly another to "touch up" loose ends(chips-scratches, a missing piece, whatever), how MUCH discount is it worth? Are you giving up local dealer perks like a loaner? For me to loose 3 weekends, and to not have a close 'home' dealer that will prioritze my car for service, it had better be $5,000 under invoice.

I think I'm changing my sig to "$ does NOT = value

Considering in my lifetime I have spent well over a quarter-million dollars for stuff I got bored with quickly, or didnt like the next day I bought it, if it puts a smile on my face its money well spent. I can't believe people fret for $1000 bucks on the RIGHT car for them. I never look back and say "I spent too much" for anything that made me happy, only the things that stinked to own.

Next time you take your next "first date" out, shop the cheapest place you can

Just visited the Scion dealership here, they had only 4 scions on the lot, and to get one in the options you would like would take about a month...yet they were still selling at sticker(MSRP).

I imagine a similiar situation in early October at Ford dealerships...
