I ordered my Black GT, manual, no spoiler, painted wheels, Shaker 1000, red interior on OCT 20. The manager said 8-12 weeks, plus maybe another 2 weeks for transportation. I ordered mine at Encinitas Ford, Encinitas, CA. The dealership is smaller than most but they hooked me up, let me test drive a GT (black, AT, black interior, spoiler, shaker 500, new wheels) IN THE RAIN!!! What a blast w/traction control off! With traction control on, it would start to get sideways but would track straight and true.
I almost went with the Auto trans....it was soooo darn smooth. In the end, I just could SEE myself banging gears and went manual.
The sales guys were ok. It took a while to figure out how to order the car correctly because it is so new. They had to alter the order twice, but in the end they got it right and the salesman (Darryl Lewis) was real nice and apologetic about how long it took to order.

Just ordered mine for $500 over invoice, Treadway Ford in Mobile, AL. It's about 2 hours from me, but they said they would deliver the car to me, can't beat that considering every dealer close by is charging well over MSRP.

I ordered my Mineral Grey, 05 Mustang GT, with IUP, aluminum wheels, etc. on 8-25-04 and took posession on 10-29-04. The dealership is England Ford, Hinton, OK and the sales rep is Gayla Coats. Rick Thiel, co-owner also was involved in the negotiation. The sticker was approximately $27,600 and they sold it to me well under sticker price. (I promissed I would not disclose my price) They are wonderful people to deal with and are very honest. They knew that most places were selling over sticker but, they aren't into that. If you are interested in possibly saving big time, it could be worth traveling to them to pick it up. I did.

If any local salesmen read this and want to sell one at $500 over invoice, e-mail/PM me and I'll sign tomorrow, I have a trade, Kelly Blue Book Trade-In value is good. Hopes to talk to someone soon, I'm in Cape Coral, FL.
THANKS!

For those that are getting a price of $500 over invoice, I assume that does not include destination/delivery charges and sales tax. Using the price list posted on this site awhile back, I come up with this figure for my invoice price:
22,603 Premium GT
168 Bright Machined Aluminum wheels
387 Interior Upgrade Package
667 Anti-Lock Brakes
219 Anti-Theft
318 Side Air Bags
43 Locking Lug Nuts

24,405 Total Invoice + $500 = 24,905 - the price I hope to buy the car for.

So a good price is $24,905 + destination/delivery charges and sales tax. Please let me know if I don't figured out right.

I'm going for my first test drive today after work: a redfire GT manual!!!

Thumbs down

With some of the horror stories of dealer mark-ups/price gouging as well as salesmen not knowing about the cars -I figured I would post something positive that kinda caught me by suprise! B)

Had my car on order since the end of June, just received my VIN # 2weeks ago -getting a little antsy... Just happen to drive by a different dealer the other day that had a Yellow Mustang GT sitting outside. Haivng never seen one in person, I decided to investiigate. It is to be expected that even in the cold a salesmen will approach... me with camera and a copy of my DORA and Jeff(salesman) asking if I would like to take it home B) I chuckled and informed him that I have one on order already. Unlike the BS you hear coming out of some dealers mouths, this guy was knowledgable and honest. Even though he admitted he was more of a truck guy, he was able to answer alot of questions accurately about the Mustang. He even offered a test drive, but I declined, I didn't want to waste anymore of his time... besides, my car will be here soon enough
With all the the dealer mark-ups, I was amazed that they were only asking MSRP!($27,650)

2005 Mustang GT Premium
5 Spd Manual
17" Bright Machined Aluminum Wheels(64D)
Interior Upgrade Package(IUP/18G)
Active Anti-Theft System(14A)
Front Seat Side-Mounted Air Bags(43A)
Locking Lug Nuts(17L)

You're very lucky. I live in Orlando... when I saw your post, I gave them a call (I'd be more than happy to make the drive down there for a deal like that). The sales people were very nice, but they said they couldn't do any better than MSRP on a GT at the moment. They are running very short on supply from the factory. Seems Ford does not have enough parts on the Interior Upgrade Package and supply lines are running much slower than anticipated. Last week's supply was stopped due to a dimmer switch problem. I've heard the same story from two dealers so I'm assuming it's good info. The best price I have been quoted is MSRP. Jarrett Ford said they would be willing to do the $500 over invoice deal once supply lines start moving again (they hope by the end of the year). I left my contact info with them.

Ford has dumped tons of the 05's on the rental car lots here in Orlando. I work by the airport and watch them drive by every day... the wait is hard, but I'm also looking for a good deal. Seems possible from what I am reading here.

Likewise for me.... any dealers within a resonable distance of Central Florida willing to put an order in for $500 over invoice, email or PM me!

Well Ordered my gt 2005 last monday. I got it xplan pricing. The gt deluxe with automatic, spoiler, bright wheels, active alarm, regualr cd stereo system, all power drvr seat, abs, traction control, delivered total cost was 24,492.00
Cant wait to see it, only difference between this and premium was basically leather seats, and shaker 500 system. Unfortunately had to stay as low price as possible. Test drove one it was awesome. should have in about 6-8 weeks. Cant wait. Will send pics when I recieve it, redfire metallic looks awesome.

Texas Motors, Fort worth texas... I talked to a salesman there about 2 weeks ago. I told him I knew the exact car (05 GT premium) I was wanting and was interested in special ordering it. He says "no problem all our cars are $500 over invoice" I went in the next day to actually place the order.. he wasnt there so I waited another day. The guy did a complete 180 on what he told me... 500 over invoice turned into "you'd be lucky to get one at msrp"

what a joke.

I did get quotes of $500 over invoice from two other nearby dealers prior to talking with texas motors. I only went in and talked to them since their location was more convenient. after being flat out lied to i dont even think i am going to buy a mustang at all.

Everyone keeps on referring to the x plan, not to sound ignorant but what is this, and how do you get this.
