I've been looking at the sideburners. The only problem i see is that you cannot add cutouts.

Steve... Since you love your setup so much....any video of this setup please?

Also, after reading all 13 pages of this thread, I might just have a shop do the install... I don't want to spend 4 hours under there only to not budge a bolt or nut.

And so if I read this right, if I order the boss setup, everything should theoretically be a Bolt on, correct? No need to drill new holes to mount the side pipes, etc... Granted, removing the stock h pipe is the only issue.

The stock H-Pipe is only two clamps and everything is bolt on just like they do at the factory.

Right... But I hear it's a pain the rear to get access to the bolts holding those clamps.

It is a pain to get to the bolts. Just need a lot of patience.

So guys... another question. I think I am pretty sold on the Boss quad exhaust... But since I have the GT500 axlebacks, I LOVE the slight popping on decel. With the boss quad exhaust, will this popping sound go away? or worse, will the GT500 "tone" change/go away? I really hope not

I found some vids on youtube with the Boss quad with GT500 ab's, but for those of you on the forum with the Boss exhaust can you please do a quick vid or two showcasing it? I would love to hear it. Also, if you have the GT500 ab's with it, even better.

thanks.

After reading all 13 pages, with every page my desire for this set-up increased! Now I so want one!!!

I'm just wondering how much louder the quad set-up would be, as I am already running in the back with no mufflers (SLP Loudmouth muffler deletes)...

I love the sound witht the SLP's, but there's always room for improvement! And one would think that with the Boss quad's, it would somewhat increase the exhaust flow.

Just one question: Some of you were talking about to remove the "splash guards" before installation... do you mean those annoying plastic flaps in front of the rear wheels?

Thanks... Now I got to order one! LOL

there are cutouts available. from... qtp.

here is a link to the site. you can order them there for like $350 IIRC

And I read somewhere that ford had originally contracted QTP to make them for the boss and sell them under ford racing brand name, but ended up just having QTP do it all outside.

Installed mine last night, left the baffles in to see what it sounded like with the stock axle back mufflers. I really like the extra tone they give, I plan on pullying the baffles to see how much louder they are. Then decide if I want the GT500 or Ford Racing Sport mufflers.

The bolts are a little tough, I used the 1/2 wrench just to loosen the clamp then finished it with a 5.5mm on the bottom of the bolt. This also works really good even when you tighten it back up. Snug it with the ratchet and 5.5mm socket then tighten with the wrench.

Actually you can...and I have. Love being able to close and open by a switch. Screw that climbing under the car and removing plates.

I ran the wiring behind the heatshield and up through the hole in the body for the shifter. Switch is mounted in center console.

Here is a video of them working.

Thank you sir!! I love the in-town sound of the car with quad exhaust but on the highway cruising on vacation it got to be too much on a 10 hour drive.

Is it "stock" quiet on the highway with the side exhaust closed or is there still some sound?

Any cruising video of the side exhaust open and closed?

When it is closed it all runs through the axlebacks. I run the Boss 302 axlebacks and it is quiet. But that will depend on what axleback you are running.

I will try to get you some video this evening driving down the freeway with it opened and closed.

I'm also running the Boss axle-backs. I just wanted the larger tips without all the extra noise out the back. I loved this quad system on my 2012 Boss 302 an wanted to reproduce it on my 2013 GT.

I'll have to get the QTPs before my next big road trip in November.

Thanks for the info and video and the cruising video to come

Can you point me towards a video of this set up. I have the gt500 axel Back and am considering treating myself to the boss side exhaust. The only misgivings I'm having is spending money and getting zero performance improvement.
