*ears ***** up*

Be neat to have the II back on the road. NO MORE BENDING IT. Tell them neighbors to knock it off.

It will be running way before mine will. I got a bit sidetracked again on but I think the zephyr will be fun enough to keep me entertained until I get back on my II. One thing about it, you will have a blast when it is done!

whats that in the sky? its a bird! its a plane! its arin with a pertinent update about the II! GASP

so i was woken up at the crack of noon today by my phone. it was a 650 number, but i didnt think anything of it. i answered and it was the shop. they had some questions they had to ask. little things like "where did you putt the watchamachigger" and "do you want the thingamasomethings" and stuff like that.

but then it was time for real talk. they have pulled my motor already and what they do is typically take that motor to a shop, have it rebuilt, and stick it back in.. but alas, theey gave arin options. they said it owould be about 1800 to get all that done. alright keep talkin. we also have this sweet motor that the owner has, why dont you call him?

well alright, so i did. The owner, lupe (also owns a meineke mufflers in the area as well) said he has what he found to be a cherry original 93 cobra motor that needs a rebuild. to haave it rebuilt and put in my car $2200. i saw no need for the extra money for a motor i can build differently and better later on.

THEN he told me he recently got a real clean 5.0 from a police auction. odometer had 6000 miles. no i didnt forget a 0. 6,000 miles. how much? $600

the best part isnt that i'm getting a low miles motor either, its that i'll finally have a NON 86 motor that i can actually use the majority of aftermarket parts on low miles is icing on the cake

they also quoted me for a T5 swap in the future at about $1800, which doesnt seem unreasonable to me. maybe ill come back to this shop later :P

in any case, feels good man

oh and they're paintin the engine bay black for me while the engines out of the way.

Oh my goodness. You mean there is still hope for II?? I thought that she was being used as a cement weight.

Just kidding man. It sounds good that she is getting underway. That is an awesome find on that motor. Dont find to many deals like that everyday.

yeah i'm really excited for this motor, stock though it may be. and at only $600 its actually saving me money to have the fresher motor.

this car is pretty much all i think about anymore lol. day in,day out. i can't wait to have her back, foibles and all. with this rainy season though, might be time to update the weatherstripping

On order, left to right, top to bottom:

1) Could see that, but likely I'd say negatory in real life.
2) No.
3) Like the Grille treatment, but the scoop is offset, not good.
4) see above.
5) No.
6) No.
7) No. Paint's nice though, and I like the wheels.
8) Only the hood.
9) Ditto.
10) Ditto.

So I say do the hood from 8-10, and put the grille from 3, with the paint and wheels from 7, and that's be an awesome II goin' on. No dam. They're... just not right on the IIs, unless it's the original Cobra front one. *MAYBE* a S197 type side skirt, but not that nasty Fox thing. It looks so wrong.

/The bumpers *are* important to the balance, without them it looks... weird.

the scoop on the blue car is offset because its got an SVO mtoor in it they grafted the old hood.

in any case, i've got a line on this alleged king cobra air dam for almost nil. if it works out i think a fox GT (or if i can, fox saleen) skirts would look pretty sweet on the car. its going to need the right wheel and tire package but i think i may have found something cheap and cool for later on

ive always liked bronze wheels but the SVE replicas are only in 18. i saw these on craigslist though and it got me thinking about them. once i do the 5 lug conversion, cobra Rs and either bronze or gold paint might be in order.

as for bumpers, in the front i need to do something. if i dont get the KC airdam, i'll go with a shortened shelby apron, if i can get it, fiberglass II bumpers shaved a bit so you can tuck them in close

shelby

tucked fiberglass stocker

for the rear i'd like a roll pan like that black striped car, but not molded in, or one of these, though as it sits i can live with the rear bumper

Wow, I love the little blue coupe!!, where did you get that grille?! Looks like a modified late model grille. Who sells roll pans, cobraII airdams and hoods for these cars?

I think the blue coupes grille was a one off piece by the owner. as for roll pans, theres a few guys over on mustangii.net that make them.

the cobra II front spoiler is available in fiberglass from a few places. the King Cobra onen is still sold by mustangsunlimited i think..

as for hoods, theres a few drag racing fiberglass companies but i cant remember who they are offhand. hoods are a bit harder to find. its kind of exciting though, there are starting to be more and more parts for these cars

updates!

i'm home for spring break and to start tinkering on teh bullitt again and i swung by the shop with my dad today. tehres some pics on dads phone, but ill get those up later

anyhow, ive seen the new motor and it is beautiful. they pulled the old one out, powerwashed the engine bay, stripped it down to the bare metal and painted it black. removed all the extraneous wiring and parts leftover from the hack of an engine swap it originally got. it looks cleaner than when i bought the dang car

shouldnt be too long now. my stoked meter is off the charts
