the guy apparently does have insurance. insurance guy came by today, only saw the fender damage bec i was asleep. he came back and re-looked at it and he thinks its going to be a total loss, which means they're going to give me the value of the car. unfortunately the fact that my motor is apart lowers my value
$470 was what he quotec for JUST the fender, so the total value has got to be higher than that, otherwise the fender would have been a "total loss" so i'll be getting more than $470, and that all I know
that'll be enough though. i just cant wait for this headache to be donewith

he was a bit ambiguous on it all, and failed at explaining
he did say that I would be able to keep the car and that I "should get" more than the original $470 estimate for just the fender. he has to find out the value of the car first, because he thinks reparing the fender AND header would be more than that value.
NADA says that a low retail value example of a 76 Mustang II 3 door hatchback with the 302 V8 and Cobra II package is worth $4K
the low retail value of a base II is lited as $2600
i find it hard to beleive that the damage would cost more than even the $2600 to be fixed, but shoot, if he's giving me that much I ain't complaining. I used NADA because he said thats what they use to find the value of older cars so i might actually get this.
He said the V8, auto trans, and the quality of my interior also helped my case, but the engine being apart detracted from it

thats what i thought but this guy was really weird and didnt seem to imply that.
but if it is the 50% then it would need to be either $1300-2000 in damage.. i guess that makes more sense

I know you must have seen this one Arin, maybe even in traffic.
My guess is this guy is a virgin and knows Arin because he's a mod on more than one Star Wars forum.

:P
I've seen those and all the rest of Road Squadron, though not in person
and while I AM on a Star Wars forum (or two?) I am definitely not a mod on any of them. my presence on other boards all pale to that which I command here on TMS

YOu can get that all fixed up, Arin. It's just bending the metal back, and fiberglassing to fix as needed. Any decent body shop can do it... problem is, most body shops aren't decent any more, they're cookie cutter "punch it out and get it billed" like my two are.
NO offense to those, of course, they're freakin' MONEY makers... but the reality is they dont' do well on anywhere from 10 years or older cars... if they actually have to *fix* the 'shown' part... they're kinda done with that.
Old school hot rod type body work like you see in American Chopper, Overhaulin' and American Hot Rod is what would be your thing.
/I think Foose and Coddington are sorta nearby... o.0

R2D2 on steroids!

C'mon Arin, admit that you'll let her use your "lightsaber"
