Arin 3m has a fiber wheel that can just attach to any 1/4 inch drill motor with a regular arbor center, and it takes rust off like nothing .You might find this easyer to use on the headers than a grinder .
It can be found at any auto body supply shop for about 10 dollars or less and the center that it goes on is about a dollar or two.

Hmm good to know. This means finding the drill, along with making it to the hardware store lol. I cant drive myself because kind of grounded at the moment lol, so I have to wait for dad. I do have some sandpaper though...

Ideally I want to get them done before my tranny is, so I can take all my exhaust components to the shop and have them do it all as well. Back to my old sidepipes and glasspacks

While I'm at it, interested in a blower? Imagine, a blown 2.3L.....

lol

Trying to sell that one I have right now for a few hunerd, in order to pay for AOD repairs/mods.

Also, I might not even use these manifolds lol. I had forgotten that I had longtubes for this car, that I could never install myself. BUT! since my car is getting worked on at a shop that specializes in custom exhaust, I figure maybe they can cut and weld the friggers to fit These pretty puppies my end up on eBay soon.

If I put a blower on my stang, it would probably truly "blow up"!!
I think I'll probably swap in a turbo engine though someday!

All I can say is you better make your own thread for it. I'd love to see a turbo 2.3L swap

It probably won't happen for awhile, and don't worry, I'd definately get my own thread!

I may have just found a notch for a 2.3T swap myself

IDEA!!! ARIN HAD A REALLY COOL IDEA!!!!!!

Ok, so

Buy THIS for around $70

and something kind of like THIS For like $20

and fab up something like THIS!!!

I could go with a conical filter, or perhaps even a flat one, and put it right behind the grille to soak up cold air.

It would cost less than a CAI for my Bullitt and would look pretty trick under the hood.

Opinions?

nice idea, just route it so it doesn't interfere with the fan, belts, etc...

Didn't the carb'ed 5.0 Foxes have a dual snorkel aircleaner housing setup? Similar concept except for the dual air filters at the ends.

I know I was kind of thinking about that when I drew this out. Though, I think this might be more effective, since im going to route the piping to somewhere where there is much more airflow, by the radiatory or say, the grille. It would be more like dual ram air.

Also, not that it really makes a difference, but the dual snorkels both went sideways didnt they? almost 180* apart; mine will both face forward. Sure it will make my now-functional hood scoop less functional, but it will be better. I might actually have to reverse the scoop to face backward like on a King Cobra to hide the carb hat frm the outside. I can't wait til fiona's back from the tranny work. then the fun begins hehehehehe

I see, just keep the bends in the intake tubes to a minimum. You gonna fab up some airboxes or ram scoops for the grille?

I shall attempt to. I haven't thought of a final design just yet, but I know it will be dual ram air

Looks like all custom touches are on hold. Heres the tranny news.

AOD is dead. dead dead dead. We went over mulitple scenarios and the cheapest we can do is rip out the AOD and put a C4 back in. turns out TONS of other crap was wrong too. oil pans leaking, as are valve covers. Engine mounts are broken, same with tranny. Needs a custom crossmember to hold in C4 (and aod, if i had gone that route) Also getting them to put my gorram long tubes in.

So the bill, as of now, is around $2K. The owner of the place is giving me a break in addition to trying to locate a good C4 in his warehouse (he's a mustang nut) instead of having me shell out $800 for a newish one. That should take it down to maybe $1500 or so. Mom didnt like the original figure (AOD fixing and wahtnot, $3500ish) or the second figure (C4 swap along with all repairs $2600) I told him to ditch the p/s repairs and the valve covers, because I can do the valve covers and i dont care for P/S. That, and a cheaper C4 brought it down to the $2000.

I have a grand or so worth of parts for sale on craigs right now, so that might help, along with some spare cash i have laying around, Mom didnt want to write that huge of a check, so I figure even with the $1500, i can scrounge up a good $400 or so to knock it down further and get this all done right/cheap.

I'll be putting my stock II manifolds up for sale soon too, i reconditioned them so they're pretty and all.

does anyone want to venture some hp/tq/weight/0-60 or 1/4mile estimates for my II?

The car is as follows:
ex 2.8L RAD4 car
'92 5.0L (forged pistons ) with an edelbrock performer 289 intake and a holley 4bbl (not sure of model # but somewhere around the 600cfm range i beleive)
hedman longtubes, straight pipes, glasspacks and side exit pipes
run of the mill C4
3:55s with some goodyear Eagle GT II 235/60/R15 rubber out back

Thanks! I can't drive it right now lol, but I want to pretend I am and have some expectations for when i get it back
