Whoa is right! Seen a virtually new '93 Cobra (still had plastic covers over the seats, etc.) on sale for less.

Paint is supposed to be getting mixed this week. The shop I go to is a little swamped right now, so I'm not expecting too much. He's trying to get green that matches DHG.

and for all the loyal fans of this thread, what say you to white stripes? I know I mentioned wanting to make this be a Bullitt II, but after looking at some 60's shelbys with the dark green/white stripe combo...

I'm starting to like it.

I had a 76 when I was in high school and did a few mods to it at the time what I could afford. I got rid of the car and then about 12 yrs ago stumbled onto the exact car in a salvage yard still in reasonably good conditioned. Of course I wasnt smart enough to leave it there so instead I drug it home and put it in storage until I felt I was ready to do it. Well that time has come and the last 5 yrs or so have been planning and it is either going to be incredibly cool and really stupid looking. Sometimes there is a fine line between the two. I am debating at this point for a few final decisions like do I go with a 351 for my base or go to a 5.4 dual overhead cam which I am leaning towards.
For a little early taste, I am running 345-35-15 tires on the rear and 225-50-15 tires on the front. They are Lambroghini Countach size Pirelli's and the rear is a independent rear made by me.

Welcome!

If you could get that 5.4L DOHC in there, you would be a hero. The 351 is going to be much easier fitment, but that DOHC sounds awesome.

Could you post some pics and info about your IRS? That sounds ludicrously awesome

The 5.4 would require manual brakes and possibly relocating the pedals and moving the master cylinder inside the behind the firewall which would be a chore but could be done. 351 base would be yes alot easier but a 5.4 would just be cool. Note this is just the starting base, I have a couple of other surprises up my sleeve. I will post some pics in the future possibly starting a new thread on this project. My dig cam I have is one of the early sony mcv's and the picture quality is real bad. The center section of the rear started out as a c3 vette and from there everything else is fabricated at my place.

Grell, i cannot WAIT to see pictures of this. It's amazing that you're able to do all this stuff, whereas i spent all day yesterday trying to install some freaking wheel spacers... and failing

Chris- I've started to lean more towards the white stripes.

I know I know, but maybe I won't make it a Bullitt II

It's occured to me that I am sometimes an attention *****. The car will stand out alot more with the stripes.

I mean I already have the other Bullitt when I want to go under the radar

Then again, this also depends on cost. Plus I have to wait til my guy at the shop even has time to paint it. he's swamped! lol

on another note, in its present condition, I submitted the II as a beater to to Tracy (in Paul's thread)

I wonder how many other entries have tow hitches...

Why do you need a month to take pics?
