LOL
the story is the parental units wanted arin to get a "safe" and "reliable" car. Condition? sell the II. The steering just got all patched up and its going back on craigslist soon. The $$ from that will go to pay off the original debt for the II, and the remainder goes toward payments on this'n. Every payhceck from here on out will be going toward this car, in some way shape or form.
Mom dictated no mods just yet, but i figure I'll just cash my checks and give her 2/3 for the payments and start saving up for what i want. Dodge plate frame will be the first thing removed. I want my first mod to be an MGW shifter, only heard great things about it.
They wanted 17950 when i got there, but i was able to talk them down to 16K out the door. The reason for the extra 1000 over blue book? its got 7350 miles
yes, you read that right. seven thousand three hundred and fifty miles. This thing is brand spankin new.
Drives like a dream come true, too.
We're trading in the 98 protege, which i will be detailing as soon as i get out of school
Mom went to the credit union this morning to see what our loan rate wouldbe, and me and dad are going to the dealer after detailing the mazda for the trade in and doing all the paperwork.
oh and chris... is your math wrong? the stock bullitt puts down 275hp and 305lbft of torque.
372-305 = 67lb ft, not 130
I am starting to have faith in this "compromise" idea.

And you're still good-to-go for college? Are you going to be talking the Bullitt to school?!

Thanks!
College was one of the main reasons I needed a more reliable car. It's not final, but I'm pretty sure I will be attending University of Pacific, in Stockton California. Its a good couple of hours from RWC, and they have tons of great internship and co-op programs for mechanical engineers and automotively inclined students.
I am probably not leaving california for school, so no matter where I go, Bullitt # 3006 will be right there with me.

first, congradulations that is truly awesome.
second i am never wrong. 372 is to the ground, so it really is 437 lbs at flywheel and 437-305= 132lbs
Wow!!! I guess you found something to get over Fiona with, eh? Congrats, Arin!!! Man, I got more miles on my '07, you need to drive that thing!!!! Here's some 'nanners for ya!!!

Future event for Arin and I to go head-to-head?!

Lets address all these in order...
-Chris... YOU SUCK! lol.
-Andy, thanks!!
-John, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm going to rack up the miles on this one.
-Thanks Lalo, and I assure you, in the short term, there will be very few mods, if any. But as soon as she's paid off...hehe...
Anyone here seen Stangnet's project bullitt?
-Jason, gimme a few weeks to get used to this whole "having five gears" stuff and you're on
Dunno if i'll be able to come close to that 12 second beast of yours. I don't think i ever mentioned this, but i love your approach to your car, suspension first and all. much more interesting than every tom **** and harry that just slaps a vortech on and cranks up the boost
-Cody, appreciated

Will do as soon as we pick her up.
As always my luck decides to act up. On the way to burger king (me and my buddy were celebrating the last ever food run in the good ole "mazdarati") i hit the curb and bent the lip of the steel rim and ruined my right rear tire lol. Dad went out to a friend's friend's shop to get a cheapo used tire before getting it detailed. THEN we trade her in for my Bullitt.
If you pulled off your ghetto M90 setup, you'd be my hero lol.
My other buddy with his Neon SRT-4 keeps bugging me to race him. *sigh* lol. Now that I actually have me a car that runs, drives and goes fast reliably, I don't know how I'm gonna keep avoiding him lol.

as much as i would love to do a cheap SC build i don't have the tools or access to the tools i would need.. welder, somthing to cut metal and so on...
what year SRT 4 and any mods?
you should be able to take him if hes stock...and if you do race do it from a roll so you don't have to launch it and just let your 275 horses do the talking.
and please don't hurt the bullitt like you did the mazdarati.

I don't plan on actually racing him lol. Despite me prior actions with the mazdarati, I usually drive quite safely.
Its an 04 SRT4 though, no mods (yet). hes looking to get some water injection soon. not sure who thought of that..
