I did trick my family

I'm not completely satisfied with it though. the "II" needs work, and maybe the script too. I also want the Blue Oval on the back of my neck, but again with the word "Vadum" instead of just "Ford" but in the "Ford" script. Not to mention I'm gonna need a Cobra on there somewhere.... and a big bold "SF"... and the Rebel Alliance Crest from Star Wars.... and a simulated gash in my arm, with blue blood dripping... and....

I'll stop now, lest my mother find this thread

Cool! So when are you going to fabricate your own custom exhaust system? Invest enough time and you'll eventually be making your own SFC's or other chassis/suspension pieces - tubular k-member, control arms, roll bar, etc. for the Mustang II. Maybe it could lead to something more...

If I had learned to weld earlier I WOULD have made my own exhuast. Since I had no idea on how to, it's been in a custom exhaust shop for a week or so. I will patch up all the rust on my hatch on my own though. They already have tubular A-Arms and stuff for the MII but I really want some bracing done for my car. I see 5.0s and SN95s and even classics, all with strut tower braces and what do i have? A lack of strut towers for one... but still! I'll figure something out. I do want some custom touches like maybe some GT-R esque fenders and some other nifty doodads.

oh and whats an SFC lol

arin....its been 9 days without a post... i'm getting kinda worried.

Well, are the headers done? is the car running driving? maybe its done and you are having so much time that you don't update. Or maybe its the same and there hasn't been news. Which is it?

Dude, what are they doin at the muffler shop? Forging their own steel and making their own tubing? LOL!!! I understand how working on a tight budget is, Arin, hope you're handling it ok and hope the welding is going good, too. Btw, my son (almost 17), is learning to weld too!!!

Well supposedly it was in for 7-10 days of work, and assuming they work 5 days a week its been 7. They are close today, so my uncle will call them on Monday and let me know what's going on.

I miss my baby I long to hear the roar of an American motor and sweet exhaust, to feel the mysterious thing known to the automotive world as "torque" and to not be ashamed to be seen driving.

My II > 98 Mazda Protege

*sigh*

I WANT SPEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arin's baby is not home

He hasn't posted here because there's nothing to post. This was the week the UC applications were due lol, so not only have I neglected TMS but also calling my mechanics, which I plan to do tomorow.

I know, I know Between UCs, regular homework, helping my friends with their UC's, working and being the suave ladies man I am, I've just had very little time for myself

I think the shop should give you a discount for making you wait so long - compensation for undue emotional pain/anguish or something like that. LOL. No, really! Then again, maybe the time away from the II will help you stay more focused on the homework and stuff. Good luck with your UC apps!

LOL I wish! I finished my apps a few days ago, they were due last night. I had a friend that finished at 11:53!!! lol!

And trust me, even tho the II ain't around there are other things that distract me. From crazy exes to new gals to partying it up with my friends, I have plenty of other things to do

You all want an update?

Talked to my uncle. Exhaust man has no idea what he's doing and can't "figure out" what to do. My uncle and I both think he doesnt deserve to be payed, since he yeilded no results. Uncle is going to header shop this tues

Now we already know the passenger hedman header works. Thats definately good. We also know that if they take the lincoln maniifold and mount it backwrds the car runs and drives but is exceedingly loud. Thats good enough for me. If I take it home like that I think that I am confident enough in my welding ability to fab up a pipe to route the exhaust out of the engine compartment. Welding the mufflers on doesn't even register with me as an issue.

Now... IF the drivers side hedman header didn't get hacked, I'll work with the knowledge/aid I've gotten from other MII owners with hedmans and put it in myself. This could negate the need for the fabricated router pipe.

Now heres where it gets a bit interesting. My friend was at a junkyard in milpitas today. called me. Guess what they have? A V8 Mustang II. I may just go up there and grab the manifolds along with any other rare parts I can find on that car (eBay! ) and just run that on the drivers side just for simplicity. This also negates the need for the odd lincoln setup. I will still need a downpipe and whatnot, but hey, thats simple by comparison. Only potential issue here is that my friend said it was on prety tight and he couldnt get it off. I'll figure something out.

So bascially here are my options, for thsoe of you that don't want to read my boring long post lol:

Run hedman on pass. and backward lincoln on driver with custom routing
-----this is a given, if nothing else works

Run both hedmans
-----only happeneing if the hedmans are not hacked and if I can fit them in there myself

Run hedman on pass. and stock MII manifold on driver
----- only happening if I can get the stock parts off that II in milpitas

As for mufflers I'm sticking to my Shelby glasspacks After weeks and weeks (months if you count the intial wait) of problems both with the car and with the rest of my life (women, school, stress of life in general etc) this could be the highlight of my year.

Also... I've finally decided on a paintjob (i THINK) but of course, it might not even be PAINT at all lol. Hope you all like Star Wars and rattle can specials. Maybe after all this crap i can actually get to work on maybe finding a way to stick that crazy V6 blower on this car too...

The saga is not nearly over, but i may finally have a winning battle to record

Star Wars? Ok, if it floats your boat!!! LOL!!! I'd be all over that other II ASAP, if you want to get any parts off of it. Take plenty of tools, plus a short piece of pipe that fits over your breaker bar or ratchet to extend your handle for more leverage!! WD-40, too, if you've got any!!! And a big hammer, just in case!!! Maybe Santa will be good to you and you'll score the right parts!!! John
