alright this next post is for all you members that are more tech savvy than me. which is basically the usual crowd for this 1st gen section. any fox body or just generally car smart guys or gals can chime in too, it concern's y'all's knowledge too

ok so we all know paxton makes a kit for a 8-9psi centrifugal blower on carb'd ford 289/302s right? right. we also know similiar kits are made for the EFI 86-93 fox stangs, right? right

now, say i got my hands on all the bracketry and hoses and such for the EFI blower, with a little bit of work, and some of that cool blue foamy blower stuff i see all the time (the name eludes me ) and a carb hat for an older blower. could i slap those parts all together and get some moderate boost going? it doesnt have to be a paxton, any centrifugal blower with the brackets and such for a ford 302 would work for this idea.

what i want to know is if i could take any of those EFI designed centrifugal blowers and with the proper hosing hook it up to a carbeurated 302, like mine. hood clearance aside (i can fix that later), will this all work?

thanks to ANYONE who answers this. im seeing all thse cheap used kits on ebay and such for next to nothing. and if i can get it all hooked up with some basic ducting/plumbing and a carb hat, this would totally rock!

 

yeah the blower all works the same... if it uses the size pulley to make 8psi then it'll make that same amount no matter what you attach it too. you just need to get the correct peice that goes from the blower to the carb itself. On a carb you need one of those box thingys...not sure what they are called so it has equal presure on the flaots and stuff at least that is what i heard. maybe somoen else could clarify.

but my main point is the blower itself shouldn't be any problem.

 

sweet deal. and that thing you're talking about is the carb hat i mentioned. my parents said they'd thnk about it yeehaww!!!

Down here in Mexico we cant buy USA MustangII headers, because they wont fit so we have to make our own headers... you know the differences betwen USA and MEX... I think is one of those time that Mexican cars where better... once in a lifetime... but anyway... show us pics and all!!!

my uncles shop explicitly told me to "worry only about the headers" beacuse "they will get everything else"

alright, seems fair, i thought

i got my headers yesterday. they got the SAME PARTS about a week ago from a LOCAL store!!!! GAR!!!!

what are the odds. Lalo's dad had probs with his swab because of a crappy mechanic. im having problems because my mechanics are too good!!! LOL!!!

so they have had everything already! its just a matter of bolting everything into place and getting her to turn over n start up.

no i have to dinf out if its cheaper to return the part to Paddock Parts in Indiana, or the local place. the local ones are bolted up (motor on crane) and mine are in the box

sigh lol. lets hope we can get it up n runnig by monday. i miss my baby

the headers the shop baught DONT FIT!!! THE BENT THE FRIGGERS AND THEY STILL DONT FIT!!!

180 flippin dollars down the drain. EVEN THO I TOLD THEM NOT TO BUY THEM!!!! GAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now they're gonna try the ones I purchased. this #$%^ing things better fit. i want my car back!!!!!

why hasnt anything gone right with this project so far?

on a possibly related note... we are reading dantes inferno in english. today on the page with the inscription of the gates of hell, my pen decides to spew green ink all over. i grab a sheet of binder paper and cover it quickly and it soaks up the ink. i lift the paper... what do i see?? the silhoute of a hand giving me the finger. ive definately ****ed the wrong divine powers off

i showed it to my friends and they definatly thing its a bad omen that an ink spill came in the shape of "the finger" on the page about entering hell. what a day

this pretty much goes along with everything going wrong in my life: relationship, school is getting worse, my car isnt home, illness in the fam and with friends. the fates must be thinking "oh well hes gone this far already, might as well send him to hell!"
