Finally got around to getting the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires installed yesterday. After test driving them, I could definitely tell how well they stick to the road like glue. They take corners really well, absorb uneven road surfaces and aren't very noisy at all. I'm also running them in 275/40/18" as a square setup and the front tires clear both the inner wheel well and front suspension without requiring wheel spacers. IMHO for $147.99 per tire, they seem like a good high quality made tire that performs very well and yet for half the price of their competitors. At any rate, I would definitely recommend the Firestone's to anyone looking for an ultra high-performance summer tire that is on a budget.

My 2014 is still at rest. My sprained and fractured ankle was determined to be unstable so three weeks ago today I had surgery. Good news is that I’m three weeks away from getting mobile again. Anyway enough of my pity party...
My car will be deep into eight or nine months of not being started or driven. I’m hoping mid-July I’ll finally get her running and finally go for a ride. I’ll get some of the summer and the fall for some cruising fun. I’m hoping she starts right up once I put a battery in. It’s killing me not being able to at least pull the cover to check her out.

Few weeks ago leaving my house I fell down a couple of steps (not thinking) and might have missed a step. Not a bad fall at all but my foot decided not to cooperate and turned right by a bit too much. Fractured and sprained ankle. After a week they could tell it wasn’t stable and recommended surgery. It’s driving me nuts not being able to go out. Thanks for asking!

The reason I went with the Firestones was from reading all the positive reviews on other Mustang forums and also from TireRack about folks who've been very pleased with the quality and performance of the tires. I had also considered Michelin Pilot Super Sports and Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires, but with the Firestones being more than half the cost of the Michelin's and nearly half the cost of the Continental's, it was pretty much a no brainer to go with the Firestone's lol. Also, It's just like you said, more and more people are buying them and becoming more and more popular. Another added bonus, is Firestone also provides a full 90 day free trial and if for any reason a customer isn't completely satisfied? they can simply return the tires for a full refund or exchange with no questions asked. IMO there's absolutely nothing to lose by trying out the Firestone's. In the meantime, I'll post some new pics with the Firestone's on the car as soon as I can get the paste off they use when mounting them on the wheels lol.

Sorry to hear that your ankle required surgery, but like you said, you only have just another 3 weeks to go and you'll be mobile once again. Hopefully those last 3 weeks will go by quick and before you know it, you'll be enjoying the summer and fall car cruise seasons

Here's some images of the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires on the Mustang. Was just hoping the picture quality had been better, but couldn't block the sun out of the way, no matter which direction I took them from lol.
I removed the front bumper cover, as the first step in changing the front lower facia to the GT/CS/Boss type with the splitter and the fog light holes. This is actually a pretty easy job; just involves removing a bunch of those plastic push-pin connectors and a few screws. The scariest and most difficult part is separating the bumper from the clips on the sides above the marker light. It felt like I might be breaking it, but it came apart with a good tug and hopefully will go back together again, and stay together.
I got the facia/splitter from Cervini's and it looks pretty good so far. Can't report yet on fitment since I haven't assembled it yet.
My plan is to use the fog light holes for brake cooling ducts. Parts are on the way from Vorschlag for that, along with their Bilstein/Vorschlag Strut/shock/caster-camber-mount/spring combo package.
Big weekend coming up, before finally getting back on track next Friday.
They sure make it look so simple on YouTube videos, don't they lol. Meanwhile, keep us posted with your progress
LOL, yeah I watched a few of those to make sure I was doing it right . . . would have been great if one of them mentioned that it was going to feel like you were breaking it but not to worry
