On to the valve cover swap. One of the bolts completely cracked my 8mm deep well socket. Luckily I had a buddy come over while I worked - he's on his way home to grab his sockets and swivel since I can't find mine. Nothing like car stuff never going right
But look at that poke!
Btw that FedEx box contains a 2012 GT500 steering wheel, Steeda G-Trac brace and 2010-14 clear corners. Hmmm I wonder what those could be for?

Marilyn is fully aligned. Have to update my steeda Koni thread with install info.
Also, I figured out the source of my squeak. Stupid exhaust hanger was rubbing on actual metal piece on the corsa. Took me a while to find. To fix, instead of grinding out the hanger, I cut some spare rubber tubing I had from my magnuson install, then wrapped that over the metal. Voila. No more squeak. I need to reinstall my poor innocent sway bar lol
Here's pics of the culprit.

Valve covers finally done, took a lot longer than it should've, but broken tools (craftsman at that) didn't help. Only problem is I need a longer piece of tubing for the EGR (I believe). I'll pick it up tomorrow and be done. I also rotated the Escape's tires while I had everything out.

Not today, but yesterday I got the new Steeda Upper Control Arm (#555-4098, "for lowered vehicles") installed.
Before I installed it I stuffed some foam into the tube to try to minimize any sound transmittal from the rear axle into the cabin. This was a failed experiment as there is definitely more noise coming into the cabin now at highway speeds.
But the increased traction and firmer feel from the rear is a good trade-off.
The new and the flimsy stock part:
