Went to the RV show over the weekend. Looks like we may be stepping up our "glamping" game and ordering this 5th wheel tonight! They sure don't make them like they used to!

It's nicer than my house too, lol. This maker has 3 lines, and this is the entry level one.......not even the luxury line. You should see some of these 5th wheels like Mobile Design Suites that are well over $100k

Well, the Jeep is finally going bye-bye. I tried to get into another but i'm getting priced out of these things. A 2016 version of mine with the same options is going 4K more than mine was. Uggh. So now i'm downgrading to a Hyundai Tucson. It fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. A lot more for the money than a Jeep, but I do feel the materials used for the interior are of a but lower quality. Hopefully it shifts normally, although they do have a transmission recall out there.

As much as new cars cost these days (thanks labor unions), no ****ing way I'm paying for a car that doesn't run perfectly. I'll buy used and fix anything that's wrong myself. At least that way when it has to be in the shop, there's a legitimate reason for it.

Agree. Thank god for people that lease cars. We've bought two in the past year that were leases with very low mileage and age. I reaaaaally want one of the new Lincoln Continentals. But I'm gonna see how they're priced after the leases come in.

Lol. You blame labor unions for this? Come on man you're not that naive. The last 15 years car prices have drastically went up for all the wrong reasons. First of all is the price of unnecessary technology just to be "ahead" of the competition. Unnecessary tech I refer to is full interactive body control systems and accessories. Design and engineering is unbelievably expensive.
Next problem is just greed and hiking prices because they "can". The unions are just there to protect their people from losing their own livelihood for bad business decisions made by a board of directors. But of course it's real easy to just say it the UAW's fault. Geez :/

28 Months long. I wanted it to last longer, but the warranty was close to expiring and who know what the transmission would do next. I never actually broke down, but that fear was always there.

I was so close to going for another Mustang, but it would have been an ecoboost and the thought of it being a daily driver kept me away this time.

I'm one that likes leases, if they are done right. The Jeep was actually a good lease. Upside down in the end, which worked in my favor since it gave a lower payment. First year vehicle, so I guess the residual was under estimated.

The tech isn't necessarily all bad. I think a lot of it is part of moving to self driving cars. Slowly add each piece instead of just do it all at once. Some tech is real handy and helps drivers, but at the same time I think it would make some drivers lazy and not pay attention to their driving.

I agree the pricing of vehicles is getting out of hand. I can't afford a new version of the same exact vehicle I bought 3 years ago. That seems to be the same with a lot of things anyway.

The tech isn't bad if it's moving towards a useful goal. Unfortunately we are paying for tech we don't need now. 12v switches and relays worked great for 60 years but now a window or door lock requires its own module which talks to 12 other modules just to operate. Low voltage communication lines back and forth to multiple body and entertainment modules for no reason whatsoever. All we want is a window to go down or a seat to go back some. A/C control systems used vacuum actuated motors since the 50's at least but now they use actuators with positioners that always go bad when it's just not necessary. Lots of very little details we all think are really cool but require a hell of a lot of expensive tech. But we really don't need it and you're gonna get it and pay for it anyways on every model.

On this same train of thought. All these new technical goodies like the car stopping for you, or lane avoidance, or self parking, techno nanny this and techno nanny that! It's out of control and is making every car more costly! Whatever happened to just driving your own **** car!!!

Haven't you noticed? Driving our own cars is quickly becoming a thing of the past. 10-15 years, it'll be illegal to own your own car. Didn't you know? SF, LA and NYC are the only cities in America.
